Benefits & Disadvantages of Spring Weddings

A spring wedding is not only symbolically beautiful, with the changing and blossoming landscape it acts as a perfect background to your wedding. The trees, no longer subdued, will blossom into life, just like any spring bride. Furthermore, sites of national heritage begin to open their doors during this season, enabling you to book your wedding at a beautiful castle and landscape for a lower price than a summer bride.

With spring weddings, there are some problems that you may come across. One issue is rain. Down pours are more often in spring, giving you a higher chance of rain. However, if you plan ahead by hiring or marquee or organizing the service and party mainly inside (with open doors), you can avoid you and your guests getting soaked.

Also consider holidays that might interfere with the wedding. Holidays, such as St. Patrick's day may interfere with your ability to book venues, especially in Ireland. Check out with your church or venue about dates that might interfere with the wedding before you book. Holidays can also be a savoir, as for many it gives them extra time off for traveling if needs be. It is also good for teachers who may not be able to get the time off. On the other hand, venues and accommodation will need to be booked earlier as many people have this same idea!

If you want to avoid the rain, opting for a wedding in late spring/early summer might be a better choice for you. The hours of sunlight are also longer, enabling you to set your wedding for a later time or organizing an evening outdoor party on the grounds. The only real problem is that over a quarter of brides choose this time of year, making it harder to book venues, entertainment, florists etc.
