Sandra's Flower Studio at Grimsby auditorium wedding fair

Did you go along to the Grimsby wedding fair on 17th September? We were in the leisure centre with our flowers. If you stopped by and spoke to us, thank you, and if you signed up for our newsletter the first should have arrived by now.

If you didn't go, or need a refresher, this was our stand. We displayed some new designs for the upcoming wedding season and some went down a storm, really happy with the response.

This was by far the most popular design of the day. Very rustic and country looking table centrepiece which on the day had sedum, ammi, eustoma, echiveras and lovely seasonal foliage.

Are you having a country styled wedding? This would be perfect for your guest tables

Our watering cans were also popular, an ideal centrepiece for smaller budget weddings but still oh so pretty.

If you are wanting something larger, our bird cage design on a bed of seasonal flowers may suffice?

Lots of lush country flowers such as hydrangea, aster and sedum.

For a more classic style our mercury vases add a touch of glamour. These were filed with roses, anthuriums, eustoma, carnations and spider chrysants.

A bridal bouquet to match this style, or for a glamorous country bride.
Roses, anthuriums, hydrangea, ammi and eustoma in a classy hand tie.

A perfect buttonhole for the groom.

Our rustic arch was also a hit. Hire and decorate or we can supply everything. Beautiful organza drapes with foliage garland wrapped around and 2 gorgeous flower displays to gather. Add in some logs and rustic lanterns to complete the style. A perfect setting to say 'I do' either outside or can be set up inside, depending on your venue.

Lovely foliage, hydrangea and sedum makes for a pop of colour

Coral and ivory wedding flowers

Nicole was recommended to me by a lovely friend of mine. She just wanted bridal bouquets and a few buttonholes in corals and ivory.
This is such a pretty colour scheme and one you should consider if you are still trying to decide for a summer wedding.

The bridal bouquet was a mix of ivory hydrangea with coral calla lily, Miss Piggy roses, apricot eustoma, alstroemeria and carnations with a little Pistachio foliage through the flowers.

The two adult bridesmaids carried a bouquet of ivory hydrangea, Miss Piggy roses, cream eustoma and apricot alstroemeria with foliage.

The 3 bouquets all together. The bridesmaids are more ivory as they were wearing coral dresses.

The lovely flower girl carried a basket of flowers from the bridal bouquet.

Baskets are a great option for your little ones to carry, sturdy enough to withstand a little ones energy but light enough for them to carry.

The groom wore a double buttonhole of an ivory carnation and Miss Piggy rose with pistachio foliage.

The other groomsmen wore single rose buttonholes.

What's in the Basket?

We've been at Swallows Nest Farm for 4 years, and not long after we arrived, I found a basket at a local op shop which said "BUY ME"!  It has become my constant companion on the farm.  I use it for everything from planting to pruning to picking and even delivering bunches.  When we are picking large wholesale quantities collecting into a trailer attached to a small tractor, I always have my trusty basket to take the flowers to the tractor.

Boronia Heterophylla, Leucadendron Lemon Spice, Grampians Thryptomene, Berzelia Button Bush

Every now and again, I look down at the basket and admire its contents.  Then, I'll whip out the iphone and snap off a photo.

Isopogon Formosa Pink Cone Flower, Red Gem Leucadendron, Berzelia Button Bush

I have quite a collection of these basket photos now, and have decided to start a regular (or irregular!) post on the blog called "What's in the Basket?"  This will be the first of many so you get a kind of overview - a Year in a Basket!

Leucadendrons Maui Sunset, Safari Sunset, Inca Gold, Tall Red, Safari Gold Strike and Protea Neriifolia

The basket is quite large but sometimes it gets overloaded - the flowers in the photo above make it look so small!

Grampians Thryptomene, Richea Dracophylla, Berzelia Button Bush, Telopea Speciosissima Waratah

Retail bunches ready for delivery to a local shop.

I'm looking forward to sharing what's in my basket. I hope you enjoy taking a peek!
