Our Colmar Christmas market-ing

Our Colmar Christmas market-ing

Colmar at Christmas time was magical and freezing.

One of our souvenirs was both of us coming home with intense colds. Bleh.

But it is so charming! Beauty and the Beast, anyone??

The funniest thing about getting to this little town was how many countries surrounded us when we landed in Basel, Switzerland. When we got off the plane, there were two labeled doors: Germany or France. We

What to Wear to a Christmas Party?

If the holidays give you a slew of opportunities to dress up for Christmas parties, there are plenty of different things you can wear. There should be a Christmas flare to your party outfit, without it being tacky or excessive. However, colors and glam -- like red, green, silver and gold, as well as jewels, sparkles and sequins --are definitely appropriate for a Christmas party.

Women
Women typically wear a dress to a Christmas party. You don't have to wear bold green and red. Gold and silver are also Christmas colors and are very elegant for an evening party. Those beaded blue mermaid prom dresses , off shoulder prom dresses A-line are also suggested.

You could wear a black dress with silver or gold beads or sequins. Ruby red and emerald green are more traditional-looking Christmas colors and are beautiful colors for dresses.

They also complement gold and silver very well. For shoes, wear stunning stilettos. If you live in a place that's cold in December, you might want to wear tights or warm stiletto boots. You could also choose a sweater or cashmere dress if you're concerned about being cold. For outerwear, consider wearing a full-skirted coat or a faux-fur coat.

Men
Black-tie suit is never wrong.

Men can choose a solid-colored button-down shirt that's not black or white. Choose rich but subtle Christmas colors, like forest green, dark purple and burgundy. It's better to choose one Christmas color for your outfit -- red and green together can easily look tacky. Black slacks or khakis match with any color.

It can be appropriate to wear dark, straight-leg jeans too, depending upon the kind of party. Avoid baggy pants and light-wash jeans. Over your shirt, you can wear a dressy blazer or suit jacket, and you may want to dress it up with a coordinating tie. Also, red swearter, white shirt matches each other. Your choice too.

There is no rule to restrict you, however, fashion is more strict than the rule. So, choose your own fashion style and be stunning.

Making A Gingerbread House

Today I've got of a bit of a belated Christmas post, although it is still the festive season. On Christmas Eve, my boyfriend and I decided to make a gingerbread house and decorate it. Luckily, IKEA sold pre-made gingerbread pieces that we Aidan structured into a sturdy ginger home followed by myself making the roof and building pretty, decorating everything with icing sugar, coloured designer icings and lots of sweets.

Here's the creating process through photos...

It was really fun making a Christmas/Seasonal Themed food post. I'm hoping to make this an annual thing; also, I may begin to upload baking posts in the coming year. If you like these styled posts, let me know.

Most importantly, this post was a #holidaycollab with some of my lovely girl blogger friends I collaborated with earlier on in the year. If you want to take a look at their festive posts (fashion, food etc) then click on their links below :

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas - leave me a comment letting me know what you got!

Lots of love
