Coconut Lane Goodies

Coconut Lane are a wonderful brand that offer an array of qwerky phone cases, wall art, jewellery, home accessories and much more. Fortunately, I was able to work with them and review some of their beautiful products from their range of insanely popular items.

Prior to receiving my goodies, I was overwhelmed with excitement; I fell in love with everything I chose before I purchased them. When I say excited...I mean EXCITED! This is why....

Wall Art and Prints are probably one of my favourite products Coconut Lane sell. They look super qwerky and fit perfectly in my room. The shabby-chic frame was already mine, as I waiting for a quote like this to put inside. However, you can order a pre-framed print for a small added cost.

Beyonce is literally my goddess - she is my favourite pop artist! I am in love with her voice, her songs, her style, her figure & life. Hence, I could pick no other quote than this for my wall. Saying that, I am now looking forward to building a collection of Coconut Lane quotes for my wall. I think they have picked a fabulous variety of wall art - including confidence pick-ups, sassy one-liners, famous movie quotes and phrases that simply make you laugh.

Next on my list are jewellery pieces. Jewellery, in my opinion, is something that can complete an outfit - from a small pair of studs to a large chunky statement necklace. When browsing the jewellery section on the Coconut Lane site, I was immediately enticed by the anchor bracelet and adorable elephant studs.

For certain, the anchor bracelet will be my Summer go-to accessory - I chose a white band as I feel that it would compliment tanned/sun-kissed skin. Also, the white and gold colours are extremely  versatile, enabling you to wear the bracelet with almost every outfit. This is something handy for me as I always seem to be in a rush.

Additionally, I am also loving these cute little elephant earrings. I cannot stop seeing elephant-themed jewellery all of my Twitter and Instagram so it was about time I purchased something of my own. Silver-coated earrings are my favourite to wear so this was an added bonus - I know I will be getting lots of use out of them! Next on my wishlist...the ELEPHANT RING!!!

Coconut Lane are well-known for their flashy, vibrant and fun phone cases. Being a follower, I know, I had to try out one of the crazy all-over-glitter covers. This looks incredible in sunlight - it was so difficult to capture the beauty of this case as my camera just couldn't quite pick up the stunning reflections of the glitter particles. Phone cases are an accessory for me, just like jewellery, so I love to match them with my outfits. This means I will probably become a hoarder of their phone cases - just like my friend Abi Hunter from Lady Hunter blog.

Recently, Coconut Lane have released a stunning range of product - the LUXE collection. I am in awe at their new classy phone cases and sunglasses; my hands will definitely be on those in the next few weeks!

QWERKY EARRINGS //Body Jewellery Shop

Recently, I've been reaching out to jewellery a little more than I used to. I always forgot the endless stacks of necklaces, bracelets and pairs of earrings I had stuffed into a little box. Since going on holiday, I've realised that jewellery can complete an outfit and make it look 10x better. Fortunately, I was contacted by the wonderful people at Body Jewellery Shop who kindly gifted me with three EarPiercing Jewellery for me to try out and give my honest opinion to all of you lot...Let's get cracking!

Body Shop Jewellery have a fantastic range of EarPiercing items that are unique from any jewellery I've seen before; they also hold other piercing products from nose studs to tongue bars if you are bit more exotic than me who only holds two holes in each ear. I must say I'd love more ear piercings and my belly pierced though...

Jewelled Silver Stud - Pink Bow (£3.95)

My first item is a pretty little girly stud that is made of stunning pink jewels. This was my initial go-to sample as like most girls, I'm all for anything girly and subtle like this little gem. The silver framing and stud length really compliment the light pink shade used to create the bow. A fabulous choice for all those who love a bit of extra pink to accessorize with.

Silver Ear Cuff - Dragonfly (£2.49)

Possibly my favourite pick of the three - this fake silver cuff dragonfly is so elegant looking. Personally, I would 100% wear this to a special occasion, I can imagine wearing it to a wedding with my hair swept back and in a light coloured dress. The fragile looking creature could completely impact your outfit, despite its petiteness. I'm a huge fan of the ear cuffed jewellery, even though this is fake and I do not actually have a piercing here. Nonetheless, the dragonfly remains put throughout the day and is very comfortable to wear.

Zircon Steel Clip On Ear Cuff - 2 Rings (£1.99)

The golden cuff above is certainly the opposite of the previous two mentioned. Alternatively, the zircon steel 2-ringed ear cuff gives off an edgy vibe, a complete contrast to the girly products noted earlier. This is very different from my usual jewellery style and that is what I love about it the most - it is UNIQUE to my world. This would look super cool with a golden, chunky statement necklace, a plain tee and a pair of ripped jeans. Hopefully I can find an outfit that will totally bring the edgy side of me out, who knows?! Finally, I thought it was cool that I had a stud to mirror the two balls on the ear cuff (I AM S A D!)

Don't forget to check out Body Jewellery Shop for all of their amazing EarPiercing products and more! They come at an affordable price, as listed above, with a very small postage&packaging on top. The overall quality is excellent and there are no faults I can depict at this stage of wearing them.

Be happy and have a great day...

Love

Royal Outfit Grab Bag of the Day: June 26

In which we explore some totally unrelated Things About Which I Have Thoughts for the week:

Queen Máxima attended a conference, June 22
See, when you overdo it with the accent color, you lose the delight of an accent color in the first place.

Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece (with the Marquess of Douro) at the Ralph Lauren & Vogue Wimbledon Party, June 22
M-C's got it down. The unexpected pink of the purse is the whole point.

Princess Beatrix at a sailing event, June 20
Visor Alert: Queen Princess Beatrix helms her own ship (De Groene Draeck, the Green Dragon) and her bouffant bends for no occasion.

Queen Rania hosted women for iftar at Raghadan Palace, June 21
Oh, this Roksanda Ilincic frock is such a perfect dress-to-wearer match. I appreciate an Ilincic done simply even more after that recent Ascot episode.

Crown Princess Mary (with her plus one, Fred) attended the Reumert Awards honoring the Danish performing arts, June 21. Click here for a gallery.
I saw some clips of this show. I got the impression it wouldn't have made much more sense even if I did speak Danish, which I don't. But that makes it a great occasion for this outfit, which is a long dress with a long kimono on top (from Rabens Saloner).
It's the perfect outfit for swanning about one's lanai all day, before heading out for an evening of baffling theater. I'd take the whole ensemble home, no problem. And I'm not just saying that because I need those Portuguese gold filigree earrings in my life rightthissecond.

Royal Pre-Wedding Flashback of the Day: June 12

The festivities for Prince Carl Philip and Sofia's wedding start today (Friday), with a pre-wedding dinner this evening. We'll be back later for that. Until then, shall we revisit one of the most epic royal pre-wedding looks of all time?

On the night before Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling's wedding, the Swedish royal family and their guests attended a dinner and concert. Victoria's look for the evening is one of my all-time favorite royal looks, because it's just the most...everything. Everything here is the MOST (and also, the BEST).

The most couture of couture dresses, a true example of the craft both in terms of workmanship (all that embellishment!) and in customization (an Elie Saab classic, similar to looks from the Spring 2010 Couture runway, but made bespoke for Victoria).

The most elaborate earrings, an impressive set created from a pair of diamond epaulettes (ornamental shoulder pieces often used on a military uniform) and worn for the first time at this event.

The most fabulous use of the family's heirloom diamond arrow brooch. Cupid's arrow, indeed!

The most dashing train attendant of all time. Who needs a lady-in-waiting when you have a husband-in-waiting, amirite?

Oh and also: the most adorableness. Whatever you do, don't forget the awwwwwww...
It's kinda rare to have pre-wedding events with as much fanfare as Victoria and Daniel did (she is the crown princess, after all; her siblings did/will have private dinners instead), thus making this level of MOSTness appropriate. But that's okay. This one deserves to be unique.

Programming Note: Today's a multiple post day, oh la la! Scroll down for a second outfit post (if you dare) and as I said at the top, we'll also be back later to chat about this evening's pre-wedding dinner in Sweden.

Royal Outfit Grab Bag of the Day: June 10

GREETINGS. Here are some random pockets of fabulousness that I would like to share with you, so that we may bask in the glow of their splendiferousness together:

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel at the Polar Music Prize last night
Victoria occasionally tries to go a little bit edgy for the music stuff, which is fine but not really in her wheelhouse. This is much better. Straight from the music event to cocktails on a warm Ibiza night, this. I hope someone gave her a drink with a wee umbrella in it.
Dress from House of Dagmar, Earrings from Oscar de la Renta

King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia also attended the Polar Music Prize
Here's Sils at the same event. (With a fur, so there goes my Ibiza fantasy.) Fabulous designation goes to the color only; the Yuki-designed ensemble itself is suspiciously Zbornakian.

King Felipe and Queen Letizia commemorated Armed Forces Day on Saturday.
Letizia mixed and matched a previously worn jacket and a previously worn skirt, and the whole is greater than the sum of its two parts. Well done.

Queen Máxima during the official visit to the U.S. last week.
And finally: Máx looks chic, and this brooch (from Queen Sophie, worn by Beatrix on her wedding day) is to die for. This was last week - a MILLION YEARS AGO in internet times - but dedicated Máx fans understand the importance of saving up the chic moments to sustain you during the long droughts, like a camel heading for a Sartorial Sahara that could spring itself on you at any time.

Royal State Visit and Tiara Watch of the Week: June 2

I like to imagine the Swedish royal family limbering up their bobby pins and stretching in their high heels with one last tiara event before the big wedding, courtesy of the incoming state visit from the President of India. It's important to warm up for your athletic events.

But first: The President arrived in Sweden on Sunday and was greeted by the King and Queen, Crown Princess and Prince Daniel, and Prince Carl Philip with Sofia Hellqvist (making her state visit debut).
Big hat alert! Victoria looks so great with a big brim, and I'm so glad to be free of forehead-bolters for the day, I'm gonna forget everything else.
Kungahuset.se
If you were in the mood for a smaller hat, Queen Silvia's got you covered with one of her standard monochromatic ensembles. And if you were in the mood for a Mette-Marit-style state visit ensemble (you know, a plain outfit plus a not-a-hat ornament), well, Sofia's your girl. Her little pouf of a head decoration can't even be seen from the front.

~*Hit Pause On Your State Visit Musings*~
Day 2 for Victoria started out not in state visit mode but in crown princely BFF mode, welcoming next door neighbors Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit for the EAT Stockholm Food Forum. Happy summery prints abound!
Mette-Marit's dress from Isolda (with a stylized chili print!), Victoria's from Oscar de la Renta
The only thing about this that bums me out is the sad little angular blazer Mette-Marit threw on top of this floaty feminine dress. Awkward dress to pick if you want to cover it up, and an awkward clash of styles.
~*And Now Let The State Visit Musings Continue*~

Kungahuset.se
Joining up with the state visit group, Victoria threw a structured white jacket into the mix, and I think I like it even more than the cardigan. This Oscar de la Renta dress on Victoria and that white outfit from Sunday's post are giving me a renewed verve for her day style, and I hope it starts a streak.

At the end of day 2 came the tiaras.
Sofia floated in to her first state banquet on a cloud of black embellishment and ruffles (talk about taking a cue from Mette-Marit) and though she showed she's ready for more with her big emerald and diamond earrings from Ebba Brahe Jewellery, there were to be no gems from the family vault for the soon-to-be princess. Not just yet.

The tiara squad featured Silvia in her predictable Pronger and Victoria repeating her green sequined Elie Saab from the Nobel ceremony in 2012, with the Cut Steel Tiara. The golden tones of the Cut Steel plus the glittering green Vegas Kermit gown is not a combination of which I am fond, friends.
Kungahuset.se
UNLESS...unless we're not warming up for the wedding but are rather getting a few things out of our system before the big day, making way for something more interesting come June 13th. If that's the case, then carry on, Swedes, carry on.

Royal Visit Catch Up of the Day: June 1

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima wrapped up their state visit to Canada last week and have now headed to the United States for an official visit.

We covered day 1 of the Canadian fun last week, and day 2 continued with another lace and big hat combo in olive, which is sort of drab, but really anything's an improvement on the arrival outfit. I will say this is the first time I've thought that Máx might have reached her hat size limit. Lots of angles where she's taking hat head to new heights...by entirely eliminating her face.

Photo: Governor-General of Canada/Sgt Ronald Duchesne, Rideau Hall
The evening concert hosted by Their Majesties featured a repeat of the red Valentino gown Máx wore to Prinsjesdag last year, which feels so plain without a sash to break up the red sea. Not even a tsunami of a side part can save this one.
This is one bad perm away from the 1980s. But she is wearing something intriguing in the jewel department: pieces from the Ears of Wheat Tiara, detached and worn barrette-style. The Ears of Wheat Tiara is one of the rare diadems that Máx hasn't worn from the family collection. At least not yet.

Day three - just in time for the trip's end - finally brought the best day outfit of the journey. This repeated white Natan frock with another big hat proves that a slight decrease in brim size can make all the difference.
And bonus points for earring style. Always bonus points for that.

Sunday night, they started their next visit in Washington, D.C. with a dinner at the residence of the Dutch ambassador. Máxima wore the absolute worst spider brooch EVER and it is TRAUMATIZING.
Video here, photos here.
NOPE NOPE NOPE. That is all.

Royal Question Mark of the Day: May 26

It's just........huh? I have so many questions. SO MANY.
The Prince and Princess of Monaco attended
the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix yesterday.
What even is this? Why does the skirt have a knee vent? Did it want to be a jumpsuit but chickened out halfway through? Why are there tabs at the top? Is this a paper doll jumpsuit pasted on a three dimensional human? I mean, this shape seems clearly not meant for a world with this many dimensions.
There's just nothing about this that isn't a giant question mark. Unless she was trying to win the prize for the year's most unflattering outfit, in which case I think we can call this a winner.
Outfit by Akris
Even the Dior earrings bring the question marks. A top-to-bottom achievement in huh?, I'd say.

But I won't leave you like that. I offer you this palette cleanser:
Charlotte Casiraghi at this year's Cannes Film Festival, in Gucci.
Theeeerrre we go. All better.

Royal Haircut of the Day: April 21

Royal Haircut of the Day: April 21

CHOP!
Queen Letizia attended the 'Woman Awards' last night in Madrid.
Look who got her hair did...
She tested out the faux bob (yes, that's bob with ONE o, stop giggling) hairstyle a time or two, and now she's really gone for it. I like to think she made a point of holding on to those long locks juuuuussst long enough to debut her new tiara in the best possible fashion before making the cut. (More on that tiara coming up later in the week, by the way!)
Her newly short and sassy bob was paired with Yanes earrings, Prada shoes, and another Felipe Varela LBD (she really takes that theory that you can never go wrong with a little black dress to heart, you know). I think I like the new 'do - she certainly seems to like it, at least. I do believe I'm detecting some swagger here. And I love a queen with swagger.

Royal Outfit Grab Bag of the Day: March 25

In today's grab bag: a visit that rolls on, a visit that does not, and also Robocop.

Felipe and Letizia had already headed out for the start of their first outgoing state visit to their neighbors in France when news of the tragic Germanwings plane crash broke.
After landing, they jointly decided with President Hollande to cancel the state visit, and will reschedule in the future. They did spend the day in Paris and visited the crisis center for the crash.
Élysée Palace
It was definitely the right thing to do, and since we won't be focusing on the French state visit as I had planned to do today, we'll proceed with other goings on.

Elsewhere around the globe, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel embarked on day 2 of their visit to South Korea. She obviously had her outfits planned prior to the trip, but I did laugh when I saw that there wasn't any black and any possibility for see-through anywhere among them. Fool me once...etc.
Engagements for the day included paying respects at the Seoul National Cemetery (above) and meeting the President (below). This is the Fadi El Khoury coat she wore to the royal wedding in Luxembourg in 2012, and I guess I'm still waiting for it to be styled in just the right way. Still a bit meh for me, though I can't deny she's looking pretty boss at the head of the dark suit crew there.
She was also sporting a floral headpiece, flower earrings from Kreuger Jewellery, a blouse with a bow and a necklace with stars slung on top, and a repeated By Malene Birger skirt with lace panels. It's a lot going on, despite the similar color palette.
She simplified things a bit for a meeting with the Prime Minister (above), and now we're talking. This is the Dolce & Gabbana dress she wore to Princess Leonore's christening (and which was worn by Princess Marie-Chantal as well), and it gets an A+ from me.
Dolce & Gabbana dress, By Malene Birger skirt (worn under the coat), and Kreuger Jewellery earrings

And finally, we check in with Queen Robocop, who is still hobbling around doing her Mathilde thing (in this case, visiting RTBF studio last week with King Philippe).
This coat is sporting a pastel, patterned, abstract take on houndstooth, and I thought it was pretty cute overall. It even kinda sorta matches her crutches, for heaven's sake. (And the only one who would take more care to match her outfit to her crutches would be our friend Máxima, you know.)
And with an updo, I bid you adieu.

Royal Outfits of the Day: March 17

So, Queen Letizia: What's she been up to? Well, you know. By day, the basics. By night, the Letizia spin. Observe:
Yesterday, Queen Letizia had a meeting with UNICEF in Madrid.
Basic jackets with added texture has been the theme for her recent daywear examples.
Last week, she donned an oft-repeated Uterqüe blazer for a visit to Zaragoza.
Which is all fine and good for your regular working business, but we're after a little more pizzazz here. And so we turn to the evening...
Last week, the King and Queen attended an exhibition opening.
Well, this is...pizzazz-y, sure enough. I can practically hear the pearls a-clutching at a queen in a jumpsuit (it's from Mango) but I think she's sorta pulling this off - I mean, let's face it, if anyone in our usual roster is going to pull off a jumpsuit look, it'll be Letizia. Of course, she also sort of looks like she was enjoying an afternoon in the royal garage indulging her mechanic hobby when someone tossed her a pair of earrings and some shoes and told her to get a move on, so there's that.

The King and Queen attended a tribute concert for terrorism victims last week.
On another night, a repeated Felipe Varela top (previously worn with a white skirt) paired with black trousers. I did prefer the lightness the white skirt added, but this attempt at sedate but sparkly seems in order for this particular event.

Also, they went to the opera on Friday night.
And finally, continuing the evening trouser trend, an Adolfo Dominguez draped top with Hugo Boss tuxedo trousers (you remember those from her lady tux moment) with big ol' pendant earrings from Yanes. This one's not capturing my imagination much, but it is nice to see some Spanish brand names overall, besides Varela. This is more designer variety in a week for her than we've seen in a while, and that's something of note.
The Mango jumpsuit, and her last oufit: Adolfo Dominguez top, Yanes earrings, Hugo Boss trousers

Royal Outfit Grab Bag of the Day: March 11

Hello and welcome to another edition of "Hmm, What Else is Going On?" I will be your host, and this is my random selection of outfits for chitchat:

Here's Queen Mathilde, with King Philippe, paying a visit to the Vatican and Pope Francis on Monday and exercising her privilège du blanc for the first time. Queen Robocop used a combination of crutches and a wheelchair to get around due to her knee injury, as she has been doing of late, but still managed to look incredibly elegant. Respect. I'm such a sucker for simple designs in white.
I love that she chose a veil - because when don't I love a veil? - but this one was rather in your face. And I mean that literally, because it was obstructing one side of her face in several photos. Maybe she's just really getting into her Robocop groove, and can only show one side of her face at a time.

Here's Queen Máxima kicking off the Week of Money for schools on Monday. She really likes this swing coat, and I really like it when it's open, at least. Anyway, the beige base left space for her statement jewelry:
Which is...alive? Possibly? That necklace clearly has ulterior motives. I'm scared. Moving on...

Here's Mary opening Grønningen's 100th anniversary exhibition this weekend, and her skirt is also alive, amoeba-style. Actually it's a paisley pattern, and it's from Joseph.
.
I mean, what can you say? Typically elegant. Totally Mary.

Royal Event of the Day: March 10

Royal Event of the Day: March 10

Yesterday was Commonwealth Day, and three Windsor couples came out to mark the day at the annual observance service at Westminster Abbey.
Leading the pack in beige tweed, the Queen repeated a Karl Ludwig coat and Angela Kelly hat. Her brooch coordination was excellent here, with the Gold Filigree Brooch (a relatively new bauble that first appeared in 2012) picking up the flecks of gold in the fabric. You can read about the brooch and the rest of Her Maj's jewels for the day (she also attended an evening reception) over at the Vault. She was accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh. He wore a suit.
My best dressed for the event, believe it or not, was the Duchess of Cornwall. This blue Bruce Oldfield ensemble is quite flattering for Cams, with just a touch of richness from the velvet trim. And I'd say that even without the threat of an attack from her pet snake, wrapped in velvet and curled up around her Philip Treacy hat.
She accessorized with her favorite pair of pearl earrings and one of her famous pearl and diamond chokers (the larger of the two with all diamond clasps that she regularly wears). She was accompanied by the Prince of Wales. He wore a suit.
And finally, the Duchess of Cambridge, who arrived awash in pale pink. Her Jane Taylor hat was new (honestly, though, she has such a collection of these percher hats in beige and pinky beige and light pink that they all started blending together quite some time ago) and her bespoke McQueen coat was a repeat from her last pregnancy. The highlight of the appearance for me? A new pair of earrings from Kiki McDonough, morganite drops on small diamond hoops. More pink jewels always, please and thank you.
Oh, and she was accompanied by the Duke of Cambridge. He wore a suit.

Your turn: Your best dressed for the day?
