Saxby All Saints Hall

The wedding breakfast of G and J was held at Saxby All Saints Hall. A place we had not visited before, but what a beautiful setting. A marquee was erected on the front lawn for the celebrations and we had been asked to provide decorations both inside and outside to lead the way.

From the carpark we placed oak logs and a branch or two with lanterns, fork and wedding sign. Alongside these were two oversized watering cans filled with sunflowers, sol, gyp and chrysants.


At the entrance to the marquee we had more logs and lanterns, both candle and fairy lights, with two old crates and LOVE sign and to top it all off a baby watering can filled with flowers. Sunflowers were dotted around the displays to add a splash of colour.

On the inside of the marquee entrance we placed more logs and lanterns, candle and fairy lights, to mark the entrance when it got dark.


The top table was decorated with up turned glasses, wine, cocktail, martini and sundae, each with a candle on top and small sunflower underneath. We also placed sprigs of gyp between the glasses and each glass had yellow ribbon attached.

At each end of the top table we had yet more logs, rustic large and small lanterns with sunflower head, gyp and corn decoration.

The guest tables were small zinc watering cans filled with sunflowers, yellow sunny santini chrysants gyp and twigs. These were placed on log slices and either had small butterfly lanterns or tea lights.

These make excellent displays for a country style wedding and also add a splash of colour in a marquee.

St Mary's Broughton

G & J were married at St May's church in Broughton.

We provided a large pedestal for the altar of mainly sunflowers with sunny daisy santini chrysants, sol and gyp. Mixed seasonal foliage completed the design.



The pew ends were treated to bunches of gyp tied up with a yellow bow, these were hung on alternate rows full way down the aisle.

This is only a small set up in church but does it add to the occasion and sets the tone of the bridal flowers and of the reception decorations.

We set all flowers up (where absolute possible) on the wedding morning, so this was a bright early start at church. We arrange direct with the church warden again, where possible, and always ask for a key holders contact number for any difficulties on the day. We do not want to worry you if someone fails to open up for us, we can deal direct and it all appears seamless to you. That is one way we help you achieve stress free planning. We know when and where and what we need to do and can answer any questions your church warden may ask about the set up, again, making the whole process much easier for all.

Sunflower wedding flowers

Jemma's wedding was all sorted remotely, a brief conversation on the phone and emailed photos of bouquets and table designs she liked. The overriding component though was sunflowers and gyp.

The bridal bouquet was large sunflowers surrounded by clouds of gyp with a little foliage as a supporting collar. 

The stems were wrapped in bright yellow satin ribbon


Slightly unusually the 5 adult bridesmaids each carried a large single sunflower with the stem completely wrapped in yellow ribbon with a bow and trails under the head.
These are usually carried by the smaller bridesmaids but looked fantastic against the dresses.


The 3 flower girls wore a single small sunflower on their wrists tied onto yellow satin ribbon.


The groomsmen all wore a small sunflower buttonhole with leaves, and ears of corn. The stems were wrapped in twine.



The ladies wore a similar buttonhole with added gyp.

This would be our first meeting on handing over, always a nervous time for me, especially when the bride has gone walkabout and no-one can get hold of her! Take your phone with you ladies if you pop out for some air.
Anyway, the flowers were greatly received and I got a hug so all was going well when I left. 


The bridal bouquets are always handed over to the bride personally. I want to see you are happy with them, usually in a hotel that means bringing them up to your room. If you are mid hair/make up I can talk to you while you are still being beautified. I show you each bouquet and who's is who's and check any buttonholes etc are where you want them. 
Some hotels will have a cooler room for storing them while you get ready other unfortunately don't. 
The bride usually receives the flowers first then the groom, then reception, so any changes to peoples whereabouts and buttonholes can be accommodated.
