10 Valentine's Day Gifts for Him

Today's post is brought to you by an empathetic young girl in a long-term relationship who struggles to buy my boyfriend presents on Valentines, Birthdays and Christmas. I find it so difficult finding gifts to buy for each occasion, so I thought I would help you guys out this year and hopefully aid you as much as possible.

Overall, I've pieced together a 'top 10' guide of some generic and some more unique ideas; hopefully featuring a variety of things that will suit your boyfriends/male friends this Valentines day.

Enjoy...

I hope this helped some of you. Stay tuned tomorrow for a 'Female Gift guide' and other Valentine's related posts over the next few weeks.

Stripes and Rips | OOTD

Jumper - Urban Outfitters (£32.00)
Jeans - Select (17.99)
Boots - Primark (£22.99)

I threw this little boxing day outfit together and really liked the overall look. The Urban Outfitters jumper I received at Christmas is gorgeous;the auburn, mustard and black colours are so complementary, making the piece jump out in my wardrobe. I love new clothing that is so different from anything you've worn before - such a lovely feeling to have a change :-)

I'm so excited with what this year holds. My new years resolutions are:

  •  To lose weight until I'm happy with my figure!
  • Improve my flexibility.
  • Be more positive towards situations instead of entering them negatively.
  • Take a photo every day of the year (I did this last year in a private facebook album and it is so cool to look back on)
  • Save my money.
  • Try out new beauty products rather than sticking to the same ones every day.
  • Try new foods (I'm really fussy and want to eat like a normal human being)
  • Have my blog reach 30,000 views and 3,000 followers.

What are your New Year's Resolutions?

What I Got For My Birthday 2015

On Friday the 4th of September, it was my birthday and indeed was spoilt again by my wonderful family, friends and boyfriend. I'm very appreciative of all my gifts and this post is not in any way boasting about my fortune; I just wanted to share with you all my gorgeous new makeup bits and bobs, some fashion items and other things I received over the course of my birthday weekend. Some of the presents below, I bought with birthday money as I preferred going to London and chosing some things I wanted myself. Let's get started...

Makeup

My bestfriend is an honest God for buying me Urban Decay's latest Naked Smoky Palette release. I was so happy and overwhelmed that she got this for me, as they are pretty darn pricey. I'm in love with the colours and names, as always! Cannot wait to review this in the near future; URBAN DECAY are an honest blessing to the makeup world.

The left purchase was one I made my own in London; I've been wanting to try the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils for too long now and I'm so glad to finally have my hands on one. The pigmentation is insane and I'm a sucker for crayon-styled lip products - they really aid appliance, I think. My boyfriend was so sweet and bought me this Nars Eyeshadow that was out of stock a couple weeks back when I wanted to buy it in London. Nars Callisto is a gorgeous icy silver/pink shade that will perfect in the winter months.

Mac's Mehr seems to be a new craze recently?! Well, from what I've seen over instagram and youtube, a lot of people are hyping of this MAC number. I thought this would be great for sixth form as it is a neutral, classy pink/mauve shade. This is also another purchase of my own from Selfridges, I just couldn't leave it, could I?!

Another friend, Karis, was absolutely fabulous and gifted me these two Urban Decay products. Urban Decay are possibly my favourite high end brand, along with Mac and Nars, and I was so happy to receive these beauties for my birthday. On the left is a recent want of mine - Daisy from Wild Flower Makeup uploaded a review on this and I couldn't help but swoon over this popping purple colour (BITTERSWEET). Additionally, I've become an avid lover of these eyeshadow (see my recent purchase here. A pretty space grey silver with glitters running throughout (MUSHROOM).

Jess, another close friend of mine, obviously listened well too when I mentioned my lust for Mac's Nightmoth Liner. I didn't have any dark lip liners so I struggled to pull off dark lips all night long. Thanks to Jess, I don't have to worry about my dark lippies smearing/cracking over my lip liner throughout the night.

When in Superdrug, I noticed many a deal so what other can one do but to take advantage?! I decided to nab this very wanted foundation when it had been reduced to £10 this week. The finish of this is amazing and very good for people like me who love a full coverage.

Jess very kindly bought me this second gift too. She was very thoughtful and matched Revlon's Miami Fever Lip Lacquer to my very bright Mac Lady Danger. These would look incredible together; a hot glossy lip would look insane in the evening.

Other Beauty

Aidan also bought me this Body Shop product from one of their new ranges. A woman wiped a bit
on my hand outside the store and I was woo'ed at the scent and softness. This is a fabulous moisturizer for both the face and body; I can't wait to be using this throughout Winter when everything seems to dry up.

Garnier Micellar Water and Eye Makeup Remover minis were extra additions to my superdrug basket. Everyone always talks about the micellar water so I thought I would give it a go - makeup wipes really irriate and redden my face. Time for a change, eh? I will be sure to let you all know how I get on!

A long-term friend came round on my birthday and gave me a present which I thought was super sweet. She gave me the loveliest set of Jack Wills fragrances..looking forward to trying them out!

Fashion

GREY JUMPER - H&M

PINK SATIN BLOUSE - H&M

BLUE AND WHITE PINSTRIPED PINAFORE - URBAN OUTFITTERS

LONG TUNIC WHITE TEE - URBAN OUTFITTERS

BURGUNDY TURTLE NECK DRESS - URBAN OUTFITTERS

As seen in the first image of this post, I also bought a new school bag from Wallis in BHS. I loved the basic colours, making it universal, so it is very easy to match to every outfit. Ironically, I adored the grey snake print, considering I'm absolutely terrified of snakes - I HAVE A PHOBIA!!!

Miscellaneous

Another thoughtful idea from my very-loved boyfriend were these two books. I love how qwerky and different the books are in Urban Outfitters and these two were the best picks. The one on the left sounds so interesting and I can't wait to read all the different feelings and hopefully relate to the author. 'THE GOLDEN RULES OF BLOGGING' will be a great late night read to keep my blog posts in ship shape. Thank you Aidan <3

Megan thought up this great idea to buy me a brownie baking mix in a jar. If you didn't already know, brownies are my absolute favourite and the jar just makes it so much better; who knows what I'll store in it once I've made the delicious treats?!

Finally, my boyfriend's mum was so so kind to buy me a new pandora charm for my bracelet. This has my birthstone - Sapphire - in it and I can't love it anymore that I already do!

My final thing I couldn't quite photograph was the main present from Aidan. He bought me a MUJI aroma diffuser with wonderful scents to fill my room with and help me relax. The beautiful smells could easily send me off to sleep and most definitely will help me with the stress of A levels over the next two years! Oh, I'll also start my driving lessons soon as I've just turned 17..aaarrghhh!

Thank you for reading, sorry it was a long one today :-)

Adventures in London

What have I got in store for you all today? A little lifestyle post on my boyfriend and mine's trip to London this past Tuesday. We decided to come back a year on from our one year anniversary which you can read about HERE if you are interested. This account of the day will include many photos, some purchases and mini descriptions of what we got up to during the day. Hope you like it!

Outfit of the Day:

White Cowl Neck Top ~ Newlook
Navy Flower Patterned Trousers ~ Newlook
Pink Blazer ~ Primark
Purple Handbag ~ Newlook
Necklace ~ Wallis
White+Gold strapped sandals ~  Primark

(There seems to be an unintentional theme - oops! At least it is affordable, right?!)

The first stop and main event of the whole day was visiting London Zoo. We both are a huge fan of animals; I find them super interesting to watch and love looking at how different creatures move/survive etc. On arrival, Aidan bought us a guide that included many facts about the various animal encounters equipped with a map to help us around the zoo. The aquarium was our starting point - the tropical fish tanks were my favourite, the varying colours of both the coral and fish stood out for me. Oh, and this fish looked so strange and unique so I thought I would snap a photo of it!

Strolling around the edge of the zoo, we came across some alpacas, donkeys, llamas and camels. One of the donkeys was really playful and kept rolling around the floor on its back like a dog, it make me laugh a lot...

Penguins are one of my favourite animals to watch in a zoo. The enclosure was really big as it held a fair few penguins inside. There was a large area you could sit to watch them whilst eating but Aidan and I decided to stand up close by the tank and take a closer look. The water was so clear so we could see perfectly under water.

One of my favourite sections of the zoo was Butterfly Paradise. A large blow-up dome with high temperatures was set up in the centre of the park - this held many butterflies in which you could enter, take photos of and have them land on you. Unfortunately, none of the butterflies seemed to like us so I had to capture photos of them on the leaves. Each butterfly had either stunning coloured or complex patterned wings which looked gorgeous to stare at as well as take photos. Here's a little selfie of us in a mirror - HEY!

Above are a small percentage of the other animals we watched during the day. I loved stroking the goats, they were so so cute! Aidan's favourite animal was the pygmy hippos; they were very small compared to the average hippo size.

After spending a lovely 4/5 hours in the zoo, we became a peckish pair and headed off for some lunch. However, before we grabbed somewhere to eat we took a couple photos of the Marble Arch since it was in passing. Today, I tried capturing many sights on my phone camera as I haven't seen a great deal of London, despite being born there.

Whenever eating out, Aidan and I always end up opting for an italian restaurant and no shock, as you would have noticed from last year's trip, we ended up having lunch at prezzo. For starters, I ordered cibatta bread with balsamic vinegar and for main I had a margherita pizza with chicken as an extra topping. The thin crust is heavenly, the food is 100% worth the money and Prezzo will forever be my number 1 restaurant. I also took a gross toilet selfie so you guys could take a closer look at my outfit.

Shopping was next on the agenda. It had begun to get quite late so we were fully aware that it wasn't possible to shop for long. This gave us the idea to come down again in the near future to spend the day solely shopping and sightseeing, as we didn't get to do much today. Urban Outfitters was the best shop I've been in; I looooove all the qwerky bits and bobs they have scattered around the shop. The only thing that stopped me from buying something was the high prices of most products. Aidan also thought it was cool to take a photo of me next to the BLOG, BLOG, BLOG, BLOG sign - bless him!

I can finally state that I've been inside a real life Kiko Milano. Woo! I had so much fun finding some bargains here as there is a huge 70% sale both online and in-store at Kiko. I was stunned to pick up some incredible deals (I will show you them later on in the post). I hadn't had much luck with makeup until we got here; everything I wanted in Selfridges/Debenhams/House of Frazer had sold out!!!

When finished walking around the shops, we wandered down different roads taking in the beautiful sights of London. Trafalgar Square was super pretty at night because of the changing-coloured fountains displayed in the centre.

To finish off our tightly packed day, we saw Big Ben up close and my god it looked incredible. It was so fun taking photos of this famous monument - who'd have thought a gigantic clock could be so photogenic, eh? I also took a lovely snap of the Thames and the London Eye. London is such a beauty in the evening.

It was time to catch the train home; we grabbed a quick drink at Costa from St Pancras Station and headed towards our designated train. Aidan went for the raspberry fruit cooler whereas I decided on the watermelon and strawberry. It was a struggle not to fall asleep on the way back, I was sooooo exhausted and my feet killed from walking.

Purchases of the Day :

Kiko Eyeshadow ~ 124
Kiko Water Colour Eyeshadow ~ 204
Kiko Long Lasting Cream Eyeshadow Stick ~ 38
Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection ~ 301 Flat Contour Brush

Thank you for getting this far and joining myself and my boyfriend on our outing to London. I hope you all have a wonderful day and let me know what you're up to in the comments!

Do you like going to the zoo? Have you purchased any makeup products from Kiko Milano?

Lots of love
