ELEGANT WEDDING INSPIRATION WITH HEIRLOOM DETAILS

Beauty is found in the details, or so we at Once Wed like to think. Meaningful, creative details differentiate each wedding from the next, and oftentimes, when a couple opts for an intimate affair, they are able to spend more time and attention on the elements that matter most.

For this editorial, the creative team drew inspiration from a simple invitation idea. They included a handcrafted collection of family love letters in the wedding invitation suite, as well as a love letter from the groom to the bride. The classical architecture of the location, paired with the elegant blush gown and rich berry-toned florals, beautifully reflect the sense of history created by the custom family heirloom.

“When working with a bride to design a wedding I am always asking myself ‘how can we make this wedding more special and unique to you?’ Being in the wedding industry, I see a lot of the same stuff over and over and what I find more important than re-creating an image is thinking creatively to design details that are deeply personal and in turn provide a powerful & meaningful experience. Weddings are a time to let love inspire us, probe us to ask questions about it, and move us to look deeper at our relationship to it.

This shoot inspiration started with an invitation idea. Many of my clients are having really small but special destination weddings with just their close family and a few friends. Since a gathering like this is so truly intimate for everyone, I started to imagine an invitation that invited the guests through a conversation of love that they were all familiar with.”

ROSE DRENCHED WEDDING AT ANNADEL ESTATE WINERY

Amanda and Bryan were married inside the beautiful stone wall ruins at Annadel Eastate Winery in Napa California in the fall of 2017. These centerpieces were all about ROSES. We had thousands of stems of full, fragrant garden roses for this event, all of them coming from local farms.

We kept the design here classic and feminine, inspired by the venue and the delicate lace of the bride’s gown and veil. The groom is a chef, so food was an important piece of this wedding. To incorporate some of this into the décor, Little herb, berry, and acorn bundles were tied to cards with each guests name and seating assignment. It was such a beautiful golden October day for them, congrats Amanda and Bryan! Published on Oncewed here.

Floral Hearts & Garlands at Sue & Les' Singleton Lodge Wedding Day

Singleton Lodge is such a fabulous venue and it's just a few minutes away from FD HQ, we are lucky enough to deliver fresh flowers there every week of the year, but it's always a huge pleasure to create flowers for a wonderful wedding there too.
~
Sue & Les were an absolute joy to work with, at one point Sue & I almost needed a direct line our telephone calls were so frequent.
As a surprise for Les, Sue had arranged for us to dress the front door of Singleton Lodge with a luscious garland of fresh flowers and foliages and an exquisite FD Floral Heart
Our FD Floral Hearts are full, voluptuous and luxurious, the one we created for Sue & Les was no exception, we'd included lots of sweet scented Roses, Peonies, Celosia, Sweet Peas and Larkspur

We'd included fresh Ivy, Eucalyptus, Myrtle, Asparagus, Hydrangea Florets and Gyposphilia in the fragrant garland surrounding the front door leading into Singleton Lodge

We decided to present our beautiful Bride Sue with her gently cascading wedding bouquet outside, the sun was shining and the sky was blue, it would've been rude not to

I'd included pink & ivory Zantedeschias, Singapore Orchids,  Lily of the Valley, Sweet Peas, English Garden Roses and a collection of fresh foliages

The Lovely Make Up Artist Katie Holt had done a gorgeous job of Sue's make up, everyone loved the treatment of the front door and it had it's picture taken a number of times by almost everyone
John Francis was the official photographer capturing all of the magic

A lovely ivory Wrist Corsage designed for Carol
All of the boutonnieres were lined up in the entrance hall ready for them to be collected by their new owners
Sue's super handsome (& super nervous) Bride Groom Les was first to have his boutonniere pinned to his lapel
The Groom's Boutonniere included Roses, Singapore Orchids, Celosia and foliages

We dressed the wedding cake with a fresh topper and corsages

Inside the ceremony room at Singleton Lodge the scene was set for the ceremony
Fresh flowers were arranged on both of the Registrars tables, fresh Calla Lilies, with Singapore Orchids, Roses, Celosia and Peonies surrounding pillar candles

Our gorgeous Bride the heavenly Sue with her cascading wedding bouquet, this image and all of the following images are by the lovely John Francis

Huge Congratulations to Sue & Les from all of the team here at Flower Design Events
