London Bound ¦ April 16

London is one of my happy places. It honestly excites me so much when I have day trips there, whether is be sightseeing, visiting one of their attractions or my favourite - shopping. This time, my family were travelling to Angle Islington to watch my friends in 'In - Nocentes' by the National Youth Dance Company. Going to watch my friend perform was very important for me as I'm auditioning for a place in the company this year...super exciting!

However, before stopping at Angel, we had a couple hours to spare. This is where I struggled to restrain myself from the beautiful shops on Oxford Circus and Regent Street; my bank account is honestly crying at the minute so I wasn't able to go crazy. I did buy a couple makeup items in Boots, with the help of a good ol' voucher and my mum kindly treated me to a gorgeous playsuit from Forever 21.

Selfridges is always my favourite place to shop/look in London. I literally want to buy all the designer bags and shoes; there were so many Kurt Geiger clutches I was lusting over it was ridiculous! The beauty floor is obviously my primary place to go - the Charlotte Tilbury stand always looks incredible with their spotlight display.

My rust-orange, patterned playsuit was from Forever 21. The material is super lightweight so will be perfect in the summer (maybe not in England but..) and the style is super flattering because of the ruched-detailing at the stomach. Additionally, the deep V neck allows you to glam-up the outfit with a statement necklace if you were to wear it out in the evening.

In Boots, I had two gift cards to utilise; I decided to go to the drugstore side of Boots as I hadn't purchased anything from there in a while. L'Oreal have always been one of my favourite drugstore brands so I decided to purchase some needed products from the stand - the Lumi Magique highlighting concealer and the Superstar Super Liner. Fortunately, there was a '3 for 2' offer on the counter so I managed to pick up one of their new matte lip products in 'Oops I Pink It Again'. After swatching it on my lips last night I am already impressed - the sponge end allows precise and smooth application to the lips.

For my evening makeup, I ventured for a purple/grey smoky eye look with a nude lip.

Products used :

~ Nars Sheer Glow ~ Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer ~ Rimmel Stay Matte Powder ~ Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess ~ Benefit Rockateur ~ The Balm Mary Lou Manizer ~ Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Chocolate ~ Urban Decay Smoky Palette & Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette ~ Maybelline Gel Liner ~ Revlon Lash Potion ~ Model's Own Liner (waterline) ~ Charlotte Tilbury Bond Girl ~

The performance was honestly breath-taking - I love contemporary dance and it has been my passion for the last couple of years. I cannot wait to audition for the company in the Summer! My evening was successfully completed with a Mango & Passionfruit cooler from Costa alongside a triple chocolate muffin. Mmmmmm.....

Where is your favourite place to travel to?

Surrealism Ballet | Photoshoot

Over the past few months, my friend Sade (https://www.instagram.com/sade.lois/) asked me if I would mind modelling for her photography project. Like myself, she is an aspiring dancer, so wished for the photo-shoot's to be based solely on dance(rs). I'm a huge fan of abstract photography and I loved the idea behind these surrealism mirror photos so I thought I would share them with you all. I hope you enjoy - all credit to Sade for her amazing skills.

I decided to add a couple from our very first, nighttime photo shoot below - the images looked incredible in the tree. I was extremely enthused to participate in Sade's project and I'm crossing-my-fingers that I will be able to partake in similar creative/unique opportunities in the future.

~ Winter Ball ~

Hey Everyone! Sorry for the lack of seasonal posts (not that this is any better) but A levels have literally taken over my life, along with extra activities like pantomime rehearsals and driving lessons. Hopefully I will keep this up over the Winter holidays and the New Year because I would love to be as active as I was during the Summer!!

Anyway, today I'd like to write about my Friday Evening at my school's Winter Ball - celebrating the hard work we've all put into playing on the Foosball table in the common room  our AS/A levels so far and to, of course, celebrate Christmas itself. I absolutely loved the venue, the colours used to decorate were very seasonally appropriate and the dance floor was so much better than my prom!!

Onto my favourite part... GETTING READY!

As always, makeup is the best part whenever I'm getting ready to go out. The focus tonight was on my eyes because I wanted them to match my silver and black outfit. Before applying facial makeup, I went straight to my eyes because when black is involved, fallout is crazy!!! I stuck cellotape from underneath the corner of my eye to the point of my brow to create a smooth, neat line where the shadow and liner would finish. Urban Decay's Naked 2 palette came in handy; I applied verve over the top of Mac's Bare Study to form a silver undertone on the lid, followed by pistol in the crease to begin layering. Black Out, an intense, pure black, was placed in the outer corner and crease layer by layer until built to my desired look. I finished my eyes by placing silver glitter all over my lid.

Primer : Benefit Stay Flawless 15hr
Foundation : L'Oreal Infallible 24H Foundation
Concealer : YSL Touch Eclat
Powder : Rimmel Stay Matte
Eyebrows : Soap and Glory Brow Archery
Eyeliner : Rimmel Exaggerate
Lashes : P.S Love Primark 'Sultry' Lashes
Bronzer : Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess

Lipstick : Rimmel Kate Moss 101

Outfit:

Jumpsuit : Topshop
Shoes : River Island

I wore large, silver statement jewellery to cover up big areas of bare skin - i.e my neck and arms. I absolutely love the black and silver theme I went for, despite originally planning to wear royal blue, like my bestie Jess. Also, Jess offered to curl my locks because I wanted to make my hair really voluminous and bouncy to take attention away from my chubby face.

Before leaving for the ball, Jess and I met with our friend Harvey to take some cute selfies. We also had a couple glasses of Prosecco - maybe Harvey had a few too many glasses...

The night finished up being one of the best nights I've had in a long while. I absolutely loved spending time outside of school with new, and old, friends and having so much fun. Surprisingly, the music was fab too and everyone was dancing the entire evening (none of that awkward, tense atmosphere with noone on the dance floor).

Thank you for reading, I hope to be posting again before Christmas. What would you like to see?

Sparkly Eyes, Snack Bar & Samba Night | Turkey Day 8

Let's get straight to the point - I will 100% weigh double of what I do by the end of this holiday; helping yourself to an all inclusive snack bar is definitely not the way to go to lose weight. It is a struggle to avoid the poolside snack bar when you can order a greasy cheesy pizza (my personal fave) whenever you wish. The cheese in Turkey tastes very different but insanely delicious; other than Prezzo, I've never tasted a pizza quite like these! Yum...

Throughout the day, you can join in several activities around/in/by the pool. Today, Jess got stuck in and participated in the Killer Darts competition. Not only did you step up against 15 others, but she conquered all and managed to win a golden medal.

My makeup was very minimal on the lips and face today; I lightly contoured with my Estee Lauder bronze goddess, threw a BB cream on and applied my NYX pink lipstick in Audrey. Tonight, my eyes were the dramacy to my simplistic, casual look. I layered an Essence golden glitter over my Mac Woodwinked eyeshadow all over the lid. This looked super pretty and girly, complimenting my royal blue themed clothing.

Entertainment tonight was the best by far - Samba dancers filled the stage in copious brightly coloured costumes, feathers consistently span around the stage and women were elegantly thrown into the night's humid air. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening and would 100% happily see the act countless times again.

What have you guys getting up to over Summer?

Until tomorrow...

Monthly Memories #1

*Prepare for a very long post - feel free to skip to the number of the photo you're intrigued to know about*

Today I've decided to start a series of post that will be posted monthly containing photos of things I've done, achieved, made or wanted during the course of 4 weeks....

Now, I would like to introduce you to my antics throughout March!

  1. So happy to now be an very late  iPhone owner! I upgraded my awful and extremely damaged Samsung Galaxy S3 mini for the 5s in Gold - it is beautiful. I have been obsessed with it for the whole of March and cannot put it down - oops.
  2. I thought I was time to whip out my kindly gifted Debenhams gift card and make a naughty online purchase. Without a doubt, I had to buy Lady Danger because it is completely unique, compared to my large collection of lipsticks, and I haven't a Mac lippie in red yet so I had to?! If that's a good enough excuse??
  3. PLL - the TV series that made my life complete. I don't know what I did before I started watching this? Honestly...I watched 5 whole seasons (there are 25 episodes in a season, each episode being 45 minutes long) in the space of 3 weeks. Let's just say I am currently hooked, considering the moment I finished it I've been searching for theories upon theories on who A is. It is ridiculous...feel free to message me on any of my social media to discuss it because I would be VERY happy too.
  4. Pizza. One of my favourite foods in the world (along with jaffa cakes and chicken:-)) Me and my bestfriends make the same order from Dominoes almost every single time we are together... My favourite is the margherita with chicken breast strips as an extra topping - the potato wedges from there are also delicious.
  5. Saved this adorable ring I saw someone upload on twitter...have been trying to find where to buy it for the last couple of days, so if you know where this is from..drop me a lil comment below!!!
  6. First photo taken on my new phone with my boyfriend! <3
  7. My wonderful mother is the best at making cakes - she made cute mother's day cakes for both of my grandparents. They were so pretty and reminded me so much of Spring!
  8. This photo and number 9 are from the show I performed with my school last week. We put on the production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and it turned out fabulous. We had so many amazing comments, I played Susan Pevensie and my best friend played the gorgeous White Witch - her makeup is stunning, isnt it?!
  9. READ ABOVE! (number 8)
  10. Getting my party on with one of the most stunning human beings around (helloitjessxx.blogspot.co.uk) - if you wanted to know, I'm wearing Lady Danger, as seen in photo 2, on my lips! What is a party without pre selfie taking??
  11. I went to MK at the beginning of the month and purchased so many holiday bits and bobs for Turkey in July. I bought all my items from Primark, along with this pretty black bodycon dress. You can read more about it in my previous post if you wanna.
  12. It was one of my besties birthdays this month and I love her to pieces. This photo was taken at her party a couple of weekends ago and we all had so much fun! <3
  13. This month I've decided to get my act together and start exercising everyday. I've thankfully realised that my body will not be bikini worthy without a bit of fitness everyday! Therefore, I've been saving photos to motivate mysel to keep working hard.
  14. This photo was taken on my GCSE dance moderation day. I had to perform three dances for 60% of my grade and the examiner gave me 90 out of 90. So amazed to get full marks and an A*.
  15. A lil selfie I took with minimalistic makeup, thought it may be good for a post one day. Let me know :-)
  16. Recently, I've been into baking. This is mine and Aidan's 'Millie's Cookie'. It tastes absolutely heavenly and the recipe is pretty simple. I really want to start uploading baking posts/recipes onto my blog soon but not sure if everyone else would like to see it or not?
  17. Dance. Finally back and dancing at my dance school, felt like I hadn't been there in ages. I love to dance so much, it makes me feel completely at ease.
  18. Photo taken prior to my sixth form interview. It went really well and I've been accepted/given a place. Cannot wait to start in September, the social atmosphere seems really refreshing.
  19. I'm so jealous of my brother. He left the other day with his school to go on a skiing trip in Italy. I miss skiing so bad; I went last year over the new year with my school and it was one of the most incredible experiences - definitely have to go again in the future.
  20. I want a puppy. That is all. Preferably a fluffy little cavapoochon. :-)
  21. My teeth are ridiculously wonky and I had no other choice but to get braces. I'm glad they are finally on after waiting 6 years. I got my bottom row put on yesterday and they KILL. :(
  22. Finally got to spend some quality time with my BFF Megan <3 I hate not going to the same school because I don't see her as much as I used to but I love our little meetups. They consist of movies, chilling, baking, makeup and lots of laughing.
  23. Celebrated my Auntie's birthday by going out for a very large (38 people) family meal. I finished my evening by tucking into this divine chocolate brownie cake, with a side of whipped cream..mmmm!
  24. Hanging out with my friends is my favourite pasttime. They bring out the best in me, as cringey as that sounds. Noone could ever make me as happy as my friends do!
  25. My final photo of March has to be the most heavenly banana bread Megan and I made. The fact it is heart shaped makes it 100x cuter! Will definitely be uploading a recipe of this in the next few weeks.

Although this is a very wordy post, I am not sorry for it. I love collecting memories and storing them somewhere safe but I thought that uploading a concise (yeah, right) account of what I've been up to this month was needed instead. Thank you for reading to this point and I promise, my posts aren't this long at all.
