If you are a petite girl, you may want a dress that helps you to appear taller. Pick a shorter prom dress or one that is long and fitted to create the illusion of height. Also, an asymmetric hemline prom dress can be flattering to your body type. Or choose:

If you are tall, consider choosing a dress that will show off long legs or has a lovely, flowing skirt.

Pick a dress color that suits your skin tone and hair color as well as any accessories you might use. Wearing a certain color can help bring out your best features, so try different colors and see which suits you best.

If you are curvy, a ball gown style prom dress can be quite flattering. You might want to flaunt your curves or hide them, so choose a dress accordingly. If you want to emphasize curves, wear a more fitted prom dress, like a sheath, or mermaid formal dress style. To hide curves, an a-line dresses or ball gowns can do the job. If you have a slender body, you may want to pick a formal dress that better accentuates curves. Choosing a prom dress that is a bit fuller in the skirt can help add shape. You may want a formal dress that draws attention to your sleek silhouette.

Also take necklines into consideration. Some necklines accentuate shoulders, arms, chest, back, or neck. Try different styles to figure out what works best with your body and the dress as a whole. Now, off shoulder prom dresses A-line are popular.

What to Wear to a Christmas Party?

If the holidays give you a slew of opportunities to dress up for Christmas parties, there are plenty of different things you can wear. There should be a Christmas flare to your party outfit, without it being tacky or excessive. However, colors and glam -- like red, green, silver and gold, as well as jewels, sparkles and sequins --are definitely appropriate for a Christmas party.

Women
Women typically wear a dress to a Christmas party. You don't have to wear bold green and red. Gold and silver are also Christmas colors and are very elegant for an evening party. Those beaded blue mermaid prom dresses , off shoulder prom dresses A-line are also suggested.

You could wear a black dress with silver or gold beads or sequins. Ruby red and emerald green are more traditional-looking Christmas colors and are beautiful colors for dresses.

They also complement gold and silver very well. For shoes, wear stunning stilettos. If you live in a place that's cold in December, you might want to wear tights or warm stiletto boots. You could also choose a sweater or cashmere dress if you're concerned about being cold. For outerwear, consider wearing a full-skirted coat or a faux-fur coat.

Men
Black-tie suit is never wrong.

Men can choose a solid-colored button-down shirt that's not black or white. Choose rich but subtle Christmas colors, like forest green, dark purple and burgundy. It's better to choose one Christmas color for your outfit -- red and green together can easily look tacky. Black slacks or khakis match with any color.

It can be appropriate to wear dark, straight-leg jeans too, depending upon the kind of party. Avoid baggy pants and light-wash jeans. Over your shirt, you can wear a dressy blazer or suit jacket, and you may want to dress it up with a coordinating tie. Also, red swearter, white shirt matches each other. Your choice too.

There is no rule to restrict you, however, fashion is more strict than the rule. So, choose your own fashion style and be stunning.

What is the Difference Between a Dress and a Gown?

The difference between a dress and a gown is largely one of semantics and personal preference. The word "gown" tends to refer to more formal garments, like those worn for weddings, proms or balls. A "dress" can be any one-piece garment with a skirt of any length, and can be either formal or informal. Generally, evening dresses, wedding dresses, and party dresses are more formal. While many gowns are referred to as dresses, like those worn to a wedding or prom, people seldom hear less formal garments referred to this way. For example, a sundress is never a sungown.

All gowns are dresses, but not all dresses are gowns. In earlier English examples from the 16th century onward, the word "dress" referred to both men and women’s clothing ensembles. It might be modified by terms like evening, traveling, riding, and people can still see examples of this on invitations to certain events. An invitation might state that a function requires semi-formal dress or attire, for example. When an invitation states that the occasion is formal, women are expected to wear an evening gown.

When the term is used strictly, a gown is fancy and frivolous wear, with a tight fitting bodice and a full floor-length skirt. Certain close-fitting styles, like the form fitting types worn by actresses to award ceremonies, are still often considered to be gowns. Attending the Oscars, for example, tends to require formal eveningwear for both men and women, though notable exceptions have been fashion disasters of the past.

Another related term is frock. A frock may also be a less formal dress, but may also be an evening or formal gown. The word "frock" is more popular in the UK than in the US for referring to any one-piece garment with a skirt. In current society, long formal dresses, cocktail dresses, sheath dresses are welcomed in party.

An exception to these general definitions is a graduation gown, which is worn over clothing. There are certain graduation dresses for girls to show personality nowadays. A woman might wear a dress under such a garment if she is planning to attend graduation celebrations after the ceremony. Usually, the outfit is flowing and oversized, and it is worn over other clothes, though a few graduates have tried to get away with wearing only the gown as part of a prank or bet. This may be cause for amusement but is considered inappropriate for the event of graduation from high school or college.

Desert Sage: The Reason To Add This Colour To Your Wardrobe

This autumn, designers predict an evolution in the panorama of colours – they adopted an

androgynous approach to colours this season, looking for a style in dressing and fabrics to

define this time of year. This fall, designers pay homage to different moments in American

history, from the 20s, hippies and bohemians to the modernists 60s and 70s, while the affection

shown by the colours and style is innately easy to use by both men and women.

The importance of neutral tones continues to evolve with the Desert Sage, mix of fresh grey and

relaxing green, which serves as the starting point in the palette for autumn 2015.

Desert Sage suits everyone!

As stated by the designer, timeless and discreet but powerful enough to take ownership alone,

Desert Sage speaks of the sense of colours inspired by nature, reminiscent of real and

uncorrupted things. The trendy colours for this autumn have their roots in many facets that can

be used to represent sophistication effortlessly through the fashion of men and women – It is the

first time that there is a truly unisex palette of colours.

Swampy shade and endless combinations!

A neutral grey-green hue is very autumnal and works perfectly with other colours. Desert Sage

is a fashionable but understated colour, a shade that works alone without being juxtaposed

against other colours. It is one of the colours that dominated the menswear but became very

popular with ladies, too. It combines very well with almost any colour, such as black, blue and

red colours (burgundy, marsala, maroon, etc.). It also combines with different shades of green,

brown and grey. It is serious, discreet and elegant.

Depending on the tone, it can make the person wearing it look thinner or be fairly neutral. In

combination with warm colours and unusual textures it provides comfort and warmth. Also,

many predict that this particular colour could replace the black in the fashion field this season.

Every style looks great with this colour!

Desert Sage is trendy and can be used in formal and evening dresses, too. So if you're

wondering what to wear to a wedding, you can take into account this rich and beautiful colour.

Women can combine romantic silk dress in this shade with a coat in military style to add a little

drama. A skirt in this earthy tone would look gorgeous as well, combined with a maroon or black

dickie. Dashing gents would look even more fashionable with a Desert Sage coat which pairs

perfectly with custom dress shirts in white or some other neutral colour.

This year, there are many choices for the fall when it comes to fashion, and the trends are

always on their way to major changes. From real autumn colours, brown and yellow in an

antique style to modern designs and cheerful colours, this year’s fall fashion is interspersed with

styles. Still, Desert Sage managed to come above all others and deserve the title of the queen

of autumn colours.

Being contacted by such a trusted company was thrilling. then to be told I could collaborate with them and receive this gorgeous Vera Moda dress was unreal. With a swift delivery and my adrenalin rushing, I opened my package to find this...

THE LITTLE PINK DRESS. I'm in awe at how flattering this cute, dusty pink looks against my skin tone. This is honestly the most prettiest and girliest dress I now own and I'm not ashamed of that at all! The material is floaty, falls in little crease-patterns and would be absolutely ideal for formal occasion wear. Honestly, I can just imagine wearing this classy number to a family wedding or out to dinner with my boyfriend.

One of the main reasons I opted for this dress was because of the front detailing; I luuuurve the diagonal cross-over style on the chest; none of my evening attire look anything like this which is why it stands out immensely. Lastly, the laced back of the dress and shoulders add an additional touch of femininity and elegance to the outfit. It looks super pretty paired with a floral headcrown and a deep mauve lipstick. Skater dresses are definitely my go-to when it comes to picking an evening based outfit; they always appear to work best with my figure.

Here's the best bit - these have been reduced on the site to just £9.99! Don't miss out on this wonderful offer; take advantage and click on the link here to look at the product from a different angle. Just For £5?!

This month I've luckily been introduced to an incredible brand; one that I've quietly been waiting to exist - a fashion place where EVERYTHING is £5! Fortunately, I was able to collaborate with 'JUST FOR £5' and chose a couple items I style and share with you all to give you a taster on what they have to offer. Each product sold is modern, fashionable and some are made to make a statement - I particularly love the huge variation in items, you can choose from dresses, trousers, shoes and bags. They seem to have covered everything! Not only does the brand hold one of the world's most afforable products, they offer a swift service costing only a measly £3.00 delivery - AMAZING!

First product - Monochrome Satchel

To accessorise my basic attire, I opted for a small clutch monochrome bag. This satchel is perfect for events that requires little to carry; a bit of lippie, powder and my phone is all I need when attending a party. What I seem to love about monochrome accessorising is that you can pair it with any outfit in your wardrobe. It also has a golden chain so you can wear the bag on your shoulder, which is always handy too!

Second Product - Black Floral Print Shift Dress

My 2nd item choice was inspired by the 'back to school' season, as I thought this little floral print skater dress would be perfect for sixth form. It fits wonderfully in the 'smart but casual' criteria as well as looking super cute and girly. Due to the upcoming winter months, I would possibly wear some knit black tights underneath too. Also, I've co-ordinated my outfit with my bag - such a 'me' thing to do! Finally, I adore the collared top and the way the dress hugs my figure in the right places.

Shoes worn are from Primark for £8 but here are a few from this site that are similar/school appropriate:

Overall, Just For £5 is a great place to go for people on a budget or who don't like to spend much on clothing. The items I received were of fab quality and I couldn't fault a thing. Sometimes I think it is too good to be true?! Like how can a brand sell such beautiful items for such an affordable amount - it honestly baffles me, but I'm not complaining!!!

Head over to their site 'Just For £5' or interact with them over on Twitter or Facebook

~ Prom 2015 ~

On the 27th of June 2015, myself and fellow pupils of my school celebrated PROM after a very exhausting and longsome exam season. I had such an enjoyable day, both getting ready and at the event so I thought I would share the night through copious photos and an account of the evening.

First off, picking my dress was the ultimate obstacle. I had an idea in mind so variation of dresses was a no-go for me - very silly if you ask me, always keep an open mind. Anyway, I was obviously having a lucky day when I came across the most sensational, elegant dress I've ever seen in my life (photos above). I instantly fell in love with the silk falling material, the way the bottom hit the ground in a soft pink pool and the intricately designed jewels and scattered array of beads sewed onto the top half of the dress.

Makeup was the next task I had to tackle. I opted for a full coverage face, as I knew a lot of photos were to be taken. I paired the Mac Studio Fix Fluid with my new Nars Concealer and they worked a treat; further setting them in place with the infamous Rimmel Stay Matte powder. Eyes were the most important focus in my Prom look - I purchased the Mac Kitschmas pigment after seeing many beautiful swatches online. The overall effect was gorgeous and left me with the prettiest pink glittery lid - I also wore a pair of Eylure lashes in No 70 which were super natural. Finally, after adding extra definition to the face with a little Estee Lauder bronzer, Makeup Revolution blush and Bobbi Brown highlight, it was time for lips. YSL 01 was applied to my lips and blotted using powder to create a soft and subtle matte effect.

My hair was styled beforehand by an amazing hairdresser. She created a gorgeous rose-shaped bun on the lower part of my head, gripped pearly slides around the edge and left natural curls to fall down the side of my face.

Earlier on in the week, I went to a salon with my bestie Karis (in the navy dress) to get our nails done. I chose square-shaped with silver glitter to match the detailing on my dress, whereas Karis chose oval-shaped and navy-glitter to match hers.

Dress check. Nails check. Hair check. Makeup Check. All was done so nothing was left to do but take lots of glamorous piccies with my best friends. Passing time awaiting our dates to arrive, we took hundreds of pictures and had a bit of girly time before the boys came.

After many selfies later, the boys arrived and welcomed us each with the prettiest corsages ever. Aidan was so sweet and bought me the most amazingly matched piece to match my dress - bless him!

The boys then joined us and our parents went crazy again with the whole camera clicking as many more photos were taken.

We all travelled separately so Aidan and I made our way back to my house. Guess what? Our families kept clicking away at their phones and cameras again, taking lots of photos of myself and my beautiful prom date. Our car arrived and we had a swift, smooth journey to our event destination.

The event was held in a local spa hotel and the inside was decorated according to the hollywood theme. There was a red carpet and ropes welcoming us at the entrance and colour coordinated balloons/decor inside the venue too. Each table had balloons, sparkles, cupcakes and sweets - all maintaining the red and silver theme. There was also a photo booth in which my friends, boyfriend and I took stupid and formal pictures in as well.

The night got increasily better as it went on, with everyone dancing and having fun together on the dance floor. It was such a nice atmosphere - everyone who I've spent the last 5 years with getting along and creating positive memories. My bestie Jess also won prom queen - WOOOOO, GO JESS <3
