Top 5 Christmas Fashion Gifts for Men | Under £50

1. Ted Baker Wallet & Cardholder Gift Set - £50.00

This gift set is perfect for guys looking for a smart way to carry around their cash and cards. Guys rarely change wallents on their own and often wait until they're literally FALLING apart, which not only looks rubbish but isn't a great way to secure you belonging on a night out. The Ted Baker leather set is made from real leather and includes gold text for the logo - really smart! There's multiple slots to store cash and store cards, plus the handy card holder that also forms part of the gift set is a neat way to leave the cash at home. The box looks great too and is easy to wrap.

Available from ASOS

2. Ralph Lauren 3-Pack Socks Gift Box - £42.00

The classic Christmas gift for guys. But this time from a brand they love. This 3 pack collection of socks from Ralph Lauren is great for guys looking for a stylish start to any outfit. Made from 79% cotton, these feel super soft and certainly worth the price tag. Once again the gift box is also really stylish.

Available from Selfridges

3. Jack Wills Navy Polo - £39.50

This is a classic navy polo from Jack Wills - one of my favourite British brands. This is described as regular fit so I'd go a size down if your guy likes to wear slim fit tees like in the the image below. These are 100% cotton and actually really good value for less than £40. A guy can never have too many polos and these are also available in a wide range of colours and style. A must-have.

Available from Asos

4. Red Plaid Scarf - £18.00

Urban Outfitters is one of my favourite places for shopping on the high street for some exclusive brands. However, for this gift guide I've actually chosen on of their own brand products which is this awesome red plaid scarf. It's incredible value for just £18.00 but also great quality. It's made from acrylic so you're not going to get the same feel as a £100+ Ralph Lauren scarf (or the big brand name) but this still feels great and the red plaid pattern is super stylish for the winter months.

Available from Urban Outfitters

5. Penfield Conway Beanie - £30.00

Another pick from Urban Outfitters. This Penfield navy beanie is a mixture of acrylic and cotton so again you're not getting the best fabrics but for £30 this is as good as it gets in terms of quality and finish. The Penfield logo is also present on the folder cuff at the front. Teamed with one of Penfield's infamous jackets this makes the perfect Christmas gift.

Say Goodbye To Bad Beauty Habits | Guest Post

All women are striking in their own way. But women who know their worth are by far the sexiest and most beautiful creatures out there.

With age and maturity there comes self-confidence; plenty lessons are learnt, many things tried and adopted or dismissed, and finally – there come advice that should be cherished by all women in the world – the advice on what to do to keep your outer beauty just as gorgeous as your inner one.

Talking to experienced women in fashion and beauty industry, these successful women who pride on broad perspectives, knowledge and experience, we’ve gathered a handful of super helpful suggestions and guidance that will be of help to any girl and or/women out there. This is what we’ve learnt:

Good face is power

No matter how shallow it might sound, but a beautiful face will make everyone around you weak in the knees. This is why you need to treat it with care – stop immediately with all the frowning, biting of lips and the inside of your cheeks, popping out blemishes or touching your face with dirty hands.

Here’s why:

The more you bite your lips, the more chipped they’ll be, and you’ll look unhygienic and sloppy. Plus, no lipstick will look good, no matter how much you exfoliate. Popping up blemishes may lead to scarring and permanent discoloration of skin.

Biting the inside of your cheeks will stretch your cheeks and create lines around your mouth and nose. Further, it only sends a signal that you are nervous, and that’s really unattractive.

We shouldn’t even mention going to bed with makeup on is absolutely forbidden? Of course not, you’ve already mastered that one.

Propping your chin on your hands? Forget about it!

Too much propping your chin on your hands will mess up your chin line. Apart from that, your elbows will get rough and you’ll unconsciously begin slouching which will negatively impact your overall posture and look. Make it your business to always sit up tall, with your back straight. Also, make sure your shoulders are down at your chin level.

Stop it with the duckface, already

The past decade or so has brought the trend of big breasts and big, pouty lips. For some reason the latter transformed into some ridiculous trend that doesn't seem to decrease in popularity. The idea behind it was to probably enhance the lips’ fullness by lightly pouting but it took a totally wrong turn. Not only do you look ridiculous but the extreme twisting of lips and unnecessary pouting creates lines around your mouth that will, in time, only get deeper and more visible.

Razor love? Never again!

While shaving may be a quick solution to remove the extra hairs off of your body, the simple act of shaving imposes constant stress on the skin. Given that shaving is a form of physical exfoliation, it may impact the health of the skin - ingrown hairs, razor bumps, razor burn and inflammation are just some of the visible signs of trauma going on on the surface of the skin.

“Shaving triggers a high level of visible irritation and can lead to over-exfoliation, as well as a compromised lipid barrier”, agree experts of dermatology. In fact, almost all of them will agree that shaving should be replaced with ipl laser hair removal. Not only will ipl laser hair removal help permanently remove hair but it will keep it healthy, elastic and glowing!

Upping My Blogger Game | Guest Post

So I started The Tailored Gent just over a month ago and I had no idea what to expect or just how supportive the blogging community could be. I originally started blogging purely as a hobby that took up just a couple of hours a week, and a way of sharing content with my friends. It was certainly never my aim to be the next Jim Chapman or Alfie Deyes but I enjoyed reading their blog posts and watching each and every upload to their respective YouTube channels.

It was clear to me that blogging is not about quitting your full time job so that you can spend every waking hour coming up with content that will get the most page views or make money, but simply creating content that you enjoy and writing about & topics that you're passionate about. It's easy to see within five minutes of landing on someone's blog whether they really have a passion for this stuff or whether they just want to make a quick buck (or million!).

Im really happy with the fact that the blog has now got a decent amount of content and has surpassed 60 followers on Bloglovin, which may seem like nothing compared to a lot of bloggers out there who seem to be celebrating reaching tens of thousands of followers, but if anything it's just such a great feeling to know that just a few people are actually reading (and enjoying) your content. There's nothing worse than refreshing those Blogger stats each morning so find that still no-one has read that wish list post that took you what seemed like an entire Sunday afternoon to put together!

Anyway, onwards to the point of this post! I wanted to set a few goals for my blog and for myself to try and make the most of this new found passion of mine..

1. Create a dedicated workspace
It's all too easy to sit in bed or on the sofa and try to create content whilst continuously being distracted by the TV, so I've moved my main blogging setup into my office to try and concentrate!

2. Start planning content
This is actually quite a tricky topic. Depending on the type of content that you're blogging about sometimes it can be best to just write as soon as youre overcome with inspiration for a post. However, when dealing with seasonal wish lists and lifestyle posts I think it's a great idea to plan in a schedule for your content. I tend to just keep a load of draft posts going in my Blogger account then just work on them and most them when I get time - this can be any time of day or night! Therefore, I'm going to try and schedule at least two weeks worth of content and then follow the content plan below:

Monday - Weekly Wish list
Wednesday - The Reading List
Friday - The Playlist
Sunday - Product haul or lifestyle/travel post depending on what I'm up to.

3. Reach 100 Bloglovin followers
I'm so glad that I came across Bloglovin when I was first starting to get inspiration for blog posts and layout ideas! It's an invaluable tool both for getting a consistent stream of page views via the huge network of bloggers and content creators, but also an amazing way to meet fellow bloggers with similar interests. I think a goal of 100 followers in certainly achievable by the end of September!

4. Get social
I'm a big big fan of social media but was initially quite nervous about using it to promote my blog because I didn't want to just spam all my friends and family with constant new blog post tweets from The Tailored Gent. I've since realized that platforms such as Twitter and Pinterest are incredible ways to share content and gain additional followers. It has also put me in touch with several brands and bloggers, which have provided some exciting opportunities for the rest of this year and beyond.

5. Stop comparing myself with "successful" bloggers
Last but certainly not least, it's so easy to look at all of your favourite bloggers and try to emulate what they do. Don't! Make your blog be the best it can be by simply being yourself and creating content that you love. I want to focus on quality as well as quantity so the focus should never be writing as much as I can without making sure Im 100% happy with the post first.

What goals do you have for your blog?

Matt
