101 in 1001 Days...

Setting goals is something I love to do - not only to motivate myself but also to have that sense of accomplishment. On a daily basis, I love to write down things down that I need to do or goals I want to achieve before the end of the day. The satisfaction of ticking each task as the day goes on fills me with a humble feeling of pride. A couple of days ago, I saw 'Perks Of Being Ami' write a post called '101 in 1001' which you can read here. I've tried to be as realist as possible, evidently with some extremities. However, I hope to achieve as many as I can in the time frame. It seems like ages away but I bet it will come round sooner than I think... Will keep you updated every couple of months to see I've achieved any of the above :)

Flowers Bring Happiness ¦ Bloom & Wild

I am a strong believer of 'small things matter' and 'it's the little things that count'. Without a doubt, things that we endure on a day to day basis can make me smile, things that do not cost like a simple gesture, a comment or spending time with someone. Flowers genuinely bring happiness to my life; they fill my room with positivity, nature's glow definitely has an emotional impact on my life. I know some people may think that's ridiculous but it is scientifically proven that nature, including flowers, can reduce anxiety, increase happiness, well-being and once received, creates an intimate connection with family and friends.

When I got in touch with Bloom and Wild, I was so excited to try out their unique flower delivering service. I had heard so much about them through social media and was extremely eager to receive my flowers - through my letterbox!

The Arrival

Two days after packaging up my beautiful flowers, my Bloom and Wild delivery appeared swiftly through my letterbox. I honestly found their service so unique, as delivering flowers usually requires a huge box which can only be delivered when people are present. This unique 'letterbox' delivery worked incredible in my home; my parents are out working all day and my brother and I attend school so we don't have to mess around collecting extra parcels from the post office.

On opening the sleek, cardboard box, the flowers lay neatly wrapped in netting, a protective plastic cover and a decorative ribbon. I love when companies take the time to package their products in special ways; I believe it makes the customer feel special and happier. Also, along with some lovely voucher codes which I will share with you at the end, my stunning flowers were accompanied by some flower food and instructions.

The Product

Kindly, I was gifted with the beautiful 'Charlie' bouquet. This set can be sent for £20 to an address of a loved one, which I feel is a reasonable price for a stunning arrangement.

My bouquet consisted of an brightly coloured array of alstroemerias with bright yellow craspedia; the craspedia are a form of daisy which progress to achieve a similar yellow tone to the other flowers. The Bloom and Wild team advise the craspedia to be a lovely keepsake - I will definitely dry and imprint these so I have a memory of this lovely opportunity.

Within 24 hours of putting the budded flowers in water, along with the flower food, they are supposed to blossom. Honestly, I would say these bloomed within 12 hours - the flower food acted quickly and had a lasting effect. My mum told me she loves alstroemerias but tends not to buy them as they wither in a couple of days; however, the food clearly increased their life span as they only began wilting 3 and a half weeks after placing them in my vase.

Overall, I would totally recommend the Bloom and Wild service - from swift delivery to an everlasting natural beauty perched on my windowsill. In the future, I will most certainly turn to this flower service whether it be to thank someone, send a good luck, an additional birthday gift or treat my mum on mother's day.

Here's a £10 off voucher for those wanting to purchase a flower gift for someone in the near future - SCARLETT10 :)

What are your favourite types of flowers? Do flowers make you happy?

Lots of love

Happy Easter! ¦ Mini Egg Chocolate Tiffin Recipe

Happy Easter!

Without further ado, I present to you one of my favourite recipes - with a twist! I absolutely love making chocolate tiffin (malteser being my absolute fave) so since it is Easter Sunday, I thought I would bring you a delicious, easy-to-make dessert, mini egg style.

I hope you like the recipe and don't forget to send me photos on Instagram/Twitter if you try it out!

Ingredients

225g Digestive biscuits, crushed
2 tbsp Caster Sugar
2 tbsp Golden Syrup
110g Margarine
4 tsp Cocoa Powder
225g Milk Chocolate
150g Mini Eggs

Method

1. Crush all the digestive biscuits up and place in a mixing bowl. I recommend crushing them in a bag and using a rolling pin.

2. Melt the margarine, syrup, sugar and cocoa powder over a saucepan. Once melted, add 3/4 of the mini eggs to the mixture.

3. Pour the melted mixture into the bowl holding the crushed biscuits. Mix thoroughly and pour into a baking tin.

4. Melt the milk chocolate in a separate saucepan and pour over the mixture in the baking tin.

5. Decorate the top with the remaining mini eggs (or any other easter treats) and leave in the fridge for 15+ minutes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This Easter, I kindly asked my family NOT to buy me any Easter eggs - I am reaaaaally trying to eat better and hundreds of choccie calories were not going to do my belly any favours! Instead, I was fortunate enough to receive some vouchers, cuddly toys and money (with a couple of chocolate presents here and there).
I hope you are all having a wonderful Easter, whether you are spending it with friends, family or for some, working. Have a fabulous day! Now...off to my Nan's for a lovely family dinner.
~ Winter Ball ~
Hey Everyone! Sorry for the lack of seasonal posts (not that this is any better) but A levels have literally taken over my life, along with extra activities like pantomime rehearsals and driving lessons. Hopefully I will keep this up over the Winter holidays and the New Year because I would love to be as active as I was during the Summer!!
Anyway, today I'd like to write about my Friday Evening at my school's Winter Ball - celebrating the hard work we've all put into playing on the Foosball table in the common room  our AS/A levels so far and to, of course, celebrate Christmas itself. I absolutely loved the venue, the colours used to decorate were very seasonally appropriate and the dance floor was so much better than my prom!!
Onto my favourite part... GETTING READY!
As always, makeup is the best part whenever I'm getting ready to go out. The focus tonight was on my eyes because I wanted them to match my silver and black outfit. Before applying facial makeup, I went straight to my eyes because when black is involved, fallout is crazy!!! I stuck cellotape from underneath the corner of my eye to the point of my brow to create a smooth, neat line where the shadow and liner would finish. Urban Decay's Naked 2 palette came in handy; I applied verve over the top of Mac's Bare Study to form a silver undertone on the lid, followed by pistol in the crease to begin layering. Black Out, an intense, pure black, was placed in the outer corner and crease layer by layer until built to my desired look. I finished my eyes by placing silver glitter all over my lid.
Outfit:
I wore large, silver statement jewellery to cover up big areas of bare skin - i.e my neck and arms. I absolutely love the black and silver theme I went for, despite originally planning to wear royal blue, like my bestie Jess. Also, Jess offered to curl my locks because I wanted to make my hair really voluminous and bouncy to take attention away from my chubby face.
Before leaving for the ball, Jess and I met with our friend Harvey to take some cute selfies. We also had a couple glasses of Prosecco - maybe Harvey had a few too many glasses...
The night finished up being one of the best nights I've had in a long while. I absolutely loved spending time outside of school with new, and old, friends and having so much fun. Surprisingly, the music was fab too and everyone was dancing the entire evening (none of that awkward, tense atmosphere with noone on the dance floor).
Thank you for reading, I hope to be posting again before Christmas. What would you like to see?
Lots of love
