Twenty four hours and counting. On October 10th 2017, the Duchess of Cambridge will make her first public appearance since it was announced she is expecting her third baby next year. Which means tomorrow is the first glimpse of Kate's baby debut number three. With her past two pregnancies, Kate revealed there was a little Cambridge on the way very early on owing to the Hyperemsis Gravidarum which affected her. It's thought to be much the same this time round - apart from William telling everyone just a few weeks ago that the couple might be seeing their midwives sooner than we think. The interest in the royal tummy will be huge tomorrow as every sign of a bump will be checked out and pored over. Here's how Kate made her mama to be debuts with George and Charlotte.
Kate's first appearance after the announcement of her first pregnancy came on December 6th 2012 when she left hospital with William after being admitted for treatment for the severe sickness affecting her. We got a brief pose on the steps of the King Edward VII hospital and if there was any sign of a baby bump (there wasn't), a carefully placed posy of flowers made sure it was well hidden.
Second time around, the Duchess of Cambridge's debut as a mama in waiting came as she helped welcome the President of Singapore and his wife to the UK for a State Visit in October 2014. As is to be expected with a second baby following so soon after a first, Kate's tummy was more rounded even in the early stages of her pregnancy. And she was all smiles, telling her guests she was just pleased to be able to leave the house again.
Kate's last appearance before this pregnancy announcement came on August 30th when she joined William and Harry for a tour of the White Garden at Kensington Palace ahead of the 20th anniversary of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. She knew then that another Cambridge was on the way but when we see her again, at a reception on October 10th, everyone else will know too. Get ready for lots of photos as Kate makes her baby debut number three.
