Gyp and thistle wedding

A lovely gyp based wedding from a while ago that got missed on the blog.

A slight twist on the usual gyp bouquet for the bride with added blue thistles and trails of ivy to add movement to the design as you walk down the aisle.

The bridesmaids each carried a posy of gyp with added shoestring ribbon trails.

The lovely flower girl carried a basket of gyp and thistles decorated with satin burgundy ribbon and cute bows.

The bride also wore gyp in her hair, and we provided 6 wired sprigs so the hair dresser could attach.

The groom wore a single thistle head with trig of gyp and and ivy leaf as his buttonhole.

While the rest of the groomsmen wore a single thistle hard and ivy leaf. All stems were bound with twine.

The ladies wore a corsage of gyp. The bride had asked for an elongated shape rather than the usual round bunch. We added white ribbon around the stems and a cute bow.

Buttonholes at the ready for delivery.

We also provided thank you flowers for the speeches

and a single table display for the wedding breakfast table. This included white lily, roses, gyp, and seasonal foliage.

Another intimate wedding party we created flowers for. Whatever size of your day we can style your flowers and deliver to your venue on the wedding morning.

If you love what we do, book a consultation to discuss your flowers soon, and let us take you on a flower adventure

Red rose and white freesia wedding flowers

This wedding was from a while ago but never blogged. Another lovely intimate wedding with a red and white colour scheme for the flowers.
The bride chose a teardrop bouquet and I feel these work especially well with roses and freesia.
These are gorgeous Gran Prix roses with white freesia, ruscus and fern foliage.

The maid of honour carried a posy of beautiful white roses with ruscus foliage

and the bridesmaid carried a posy filled with gorgeous white freesia and foliage.

The groomsmen each wore a red rose and the groom wore a rose and freesia buttonhole to match his bride.

The ladies all had a traditional corsage of white freesia to compliment their outfits.

These are all simple designs but the flowers used create the wow factor and set against beautiful dresses will create a stunning look for you and your maids.

Purple, Yellow and Ivory wedding flowers

Last Saturday was the wedding of S & R. This was a last minute wedding after their original supplier pulled out. S rang me and talked through her immediate disappointment and asked if I could help her out. The date was available and we booked an appointment to go through all her options. She more or less booked then and there and was more than happy with the process and quote thereafter.

I absolutely loved the colours! I love the pales and pastels but just occasionally a brighter more unusual colour comes in and it really helps keeps flowers interesting. (And I love love purple!)

Purples with yellow and ivory, lots of lovely freesia, purple eustoma, yellow sol and ivory roses, with a few David Austin Patience for an added punch of scent.

Lots of foliage was required including herbs. Pistachio, Myrtle, Rosemary and ferns were used in the bouquets.

The scent from all these bouquets was sensational. (Even for someone working with them all day.)

A small posy for the flower girl

with a fabulous half flower crown of sol and herbs

The four bridesmaids carried posies similar to the bride's bouquet but without the purple eustoma.

The groom wore a natural style buttonhole with yellow freesia, sol, purple eustoma and ivory spray roses, with myrtle and thyme and Rosemary.

His best man wore a similar design

while the other groomsmen wore a single eustoma bloom with sol and a mix of herb foliage.

The Mother of the Bride wore a gorgeous corsage of a mix of flowers from the bride's bouquet including a lush David Austin rose and ivy foliage.

The Mother of the Groom wore a slightly different design of the smaller flowers, herbs and fern.

The other special guests were presented with a single ivory rose with gyp and twine bound stems.

We always deliver the buttonholes and corsages on presentation boards and can, if requested, label them all so the right design goes ton the right person. Remember you won't be there, or are busy getting ready, make life easy for your guests and you won't be bothered with the small stuff.

Our bouquets for the bridal party are laid in boxes filled with stuffing, paper and a final layer of acid free tissue paper.

Do you love these bouquets? Want this colour combination or another unusual theme? We can help out. Your colours, your day. Don't let anyone say a combination can't/shouldn't be created. Your personality should shine out and if you are a bright person your colours shouldn't be pale and pastel!

I am happy to talk through any colour combos for your wedding. Get in touch today to start working towards your dream flowers.

Peach wedding bouquets

Another look at colour in bridal bouquets, focusing on peach, and all the hues from orange, coral, mango, apricot and salmon.
When talking through flower options do bare in mind the undertones to your peach colour, does it have pink tinges, yellow, orange, brown? This can vary widely and many peachy flowers will look a different shade next to a colour with opposing tones.
This gerbera wedding was a classic example. The bride wanted to match to her coral sashes and bridesmaid dresses. I chose many varieties and nothing seemed to work. In the end I gave a sample of fabric to my supplier who came up with a perfect match. Just talking colour tones is really difficult, seeing the colour really does help.

A more orange tone with these gorgeous roses, holly and berries for an autumnal look.

Or a pinky peach with another gorgeous rose, along with ivory roses and freesia, Rosemary, ferns and salal for a more elegant style.

For a Mary Poppins themed wedding lots of ruffles, lace and pearls, with Miss Piggy roses, a coral and ivory roses.

A structured teardrop design jam packed with roses from dark coral, lighter coral, peach and pale pink add in a few berries and heather and voila!

A different take on a rose packed bouquet, this time a hand tie. Softer brown/peach, cream/peach and a vibrant roses surrounded with fern.

Soft yellow peach roses amongst a cloud of gyp.

A pastel bouquet showing peach and pink can work very well together

Or perhaps you are more vibrant? Orange and cerise pink gerberas with burgundy roses and foliage

A bridesmaid bouquet of peach lily, berries, stocks, darker alstroemeria, ivory veronica and phalaenopsis orchid to compliment

the bridal shower bouquet of similar flowers.

Calla lily have some lovely shades too.
These are mango calla teamed with ostrich feathers and dark foliage.

For a pretty style this bridal bouquet of peach calla, Miss Piggy rose, apricot carnation, eustoma and white hydrangea hits the spot.

The bridesmaid bouquet had alstroemeria instead of calla lily.

I hope this has given you inspiration for your peach coloured wedding bouquet. For more in-depth look at the weddings above search by colour under labels for the different shades.
For more guidance please book a consultation where we can talk through the shades and tones you are using and come up with some flower varieties to suit.
