Autumnal Accessory Lovin' | Miss Milly

Autumn is just the best season. Everything becomes so much better at this time of year - the fashion/colours are gorgeous, the nights are darker, Christmas is on its way and it's slightly acceptable to wear all my cosy, childish pyjamas from 4pm onwards! Another thing that has got me hyped up this Autumn are the accessories...let's take a look at a few of my fave pieces from Miss Milly.

Autumn leaves are one of the most common reasons for loving this time of year - I mean, who doesn't love hearing the sound of them crunch beneath your feet? Not the mention the array of mustards, oranges and reds as you walk through forests.

To highlight the beauty of the season, I chose this orange, metallic leaf necklace to wear with each of my beloved knitted jumpers. The elaborately designed,silver-coated veins complement the leaf's warm tone, making the necklace look expensive and unique. This has been my staple necklace throughout October and I couldn't recommend adding it to your collection enough!

This isn't specifically Fall-based, but I thought it was super cute must-have jewellery piece. The love knot bangle is simple, beautiful and a perfect gift for a loved one; it is relatively sturdy and small in wrist size (I struggled slightly to fit it over my hands but is comfortable on the wrist). A great alternative to the pricey Tiffany&Co love knot bangles!

Finally, we have this stunning Purple Resin Ring, new to Miss Milly's online store. If you've been reading for a while, you will know my evergrowing love for large statements rings. This deep purple sparkling edition to my collection is fab for everyday autumnal wear - the ring is easily adjustable and can resized to fit any finger (I always wear mine on my ring or index finger!) Adjustable rings are a huge pro, making them universal for each and every one of you.

Thank you to Miss Milly for collaborating with me and sending me these gorgeous products. All opinions are my own, despite not purchasing them. I am always honest in my reviews!

What are your statement jewellery pieces this Autumn?!

Lots of love

The Cream Eyeshadow Edit

Are you ever in a rush to do your makeup? Are you ever stuck trying to create that perfect smoky eye in 2 minutes flat? I know I certainly can relate. That's why today's post is here to give you the lowdown on what to do when stuck in these dilemmas - use cream eyeshadows!

On school days or mornings where I have to wake up early, I just NEVER have time to apply my makeup the way I want it to look. Being only semi-okay at eyeshadow, I always find it best to stay clear of dramatic/smoky looks on these types of mornings. The product I will forever turn to are cream shadows; they sit comfortably on the lid, create a wonderful sheen/colour on the lids and are super easy! Majority of the time, I blend in the shadows with my fingers, as I believe it to be the simplest way to apply but using a brush would work just the same.

Below are a few of my favourite brands that have wonderful ranges of cream formulated and pretty eyeshadows :

Starting on the drugstore end of the spectrum, I'd like to give a hand over to possibly the most talked about eyeshadows from the lower side of the market - Maybelline Colour Tattoos. From the moment I started wearing ON AND ON BRONZE two years ago, I fell in love and have always labelled it as a holy grail makeup product. This particular shade is perfect for day and night occasions and make a perfect base for a warm, brown autumn eye look.

Moving on to a recent favourite of mine - the Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow Sticks. I can't get enough of the pigmentation, even the most gentlest swipe on the hand and you're left with a beam of colour. The shade I got is a mix between champagne/taupe; a great addition to any smoky eye look. Can't wait to be wearing more of this throughout the cooler months.

Another cult favourite of both mine and other makeup fanatics are the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils. I have 3 shades; milk (white), Yoghurt (pink) and French Fries (bronze). Milk is absolutely incredible for a base or to brighten the eye. If you want to read an in depth review about these just click HERE. Personally, I'm a big fan of the stick-shaped cream shadows as they are less messy and simple to apply.

Sliding smoothly onto the more expensive cream shadows, we have the Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadows. I've been wearing RSVP for a year now and it is the ONE to wear on a 'no-makeup, makeup day'. It gives a glowing, awakened look to the eye as well as creating a pretty pink/champagne sheen on the lid. Oh, and the packaging is to die for!!!

Finally, here come my favourite of all - MAC PAINT POTS. I'm sure you've heard a lot about these are it is constantly talked about all over the blogger community. The easy-to-blend formula makes these cream shadows a dream to apply, not to mention the extensive colour range Mac has to offer. The shades I have are bare study - a classic champagne/cream colour which works fabulous as a base or primer, and rubenesque - an orange, metallic shade that is very autumn appropriate (the various colours it shares when it reflects is beyond gorgeous!)

Dinner View, Orange Lips and Night Time Antics |Turkey Day 10

Ever since I've arrived at the Green Forest Hotel, I have not once been disappointed with the food. There is variation at dinner daily and foods from all different cultures so there is something for everyone which is lovely. I was a huge fan of their chicken kebab sticks, their beef and also their grilled chicken (not photographed). How could you not enjoy dinner anyway when you're admiring this beautiful view out of the window?!

Tonight, I decided to whip out my black skort and pair it with a hot red crop top; to further add to the outfit I borrowed Jess' qwerky kimono, which I must say I'm very jealous of! Oh, and what other lipstick could compliment an outfit better than good ol' Mac's Lady Danger!

After a wonderful night of playing pool, listening to the music and watching the entertainment it was time for bed. All these days of relaxing and doing nothing exhaust me...don't ask me how. Craving oreos has become my thing out here in Turkey so I ended the evening with a nice cuppa and some oreos.

Until tomorrow...

Tiara Watch of the Day: June 25

The sneakiest tiara occasion of the Dutch year happened last night: the annual gala dinner for the Corps Diplomatique. Pictures from inside are not usually released, so glimpses from the steps as they enter (in regular day clothes) and leave (fully bedazzled) are as much of the splendor as they share. This year, on video:
Departures (including tiaras) begin at 1:18.
Queen Máxima and Princess Beatrix swapped wedding tiaras, because they are the cutest, with the Württemberg Ornate Pearl Tiara for Máxima and the Pearl Button Tiara (Diamond Star Version) for Beatrix. Princess Margriet was also present, wearing the pearl version of the Emerald Parure Tiara. (Click here for a few photos.)

Máx brought back one of her greatest gala gowns, an orange lace number she wore to her pre-wedding dinner. She also repeated it for the 2002 wedding of Princess Märtha Louise of Norway and Ari Behn, just a few months later:
A whole lot more elegant than you'd think it would be from the orange lace description, right? That's what happens when you get your orange lace from Valentino, I guess.
