A Fusion of Italian & English Flowers & Herbs For Sheila & Nicholas' Wedding Day at The White Church & The Grand Hotel
We had such a wonderful first meeting with the very lovely Sheila way back last year, it turned out that Sheila & Nicholas shared our love of Italy and we discussed at length the places they'd visited, the food and wine they enjoy and of course the flowers and Herbs they loved, many of them Mediterranean and of course some English country garden blooms too, we hit on a plan of fusing these ideas creating a quintessentially English wedding with a bit of an Italian twist, the ceremony was to be held over at The White Church in Fairhaven and their celebrations at The Grand Hotel in St Annes
We met again with Sheila & Nicholas this time for their Mood Board meeting, we learned more and managed to get a clear picture of the styling they liked, a relaxed vibe prevailed with lots of fresh Italian Herbs and trailing foliages, we were looking forward to their samples appointment...
Sheila loved her sample wedding bouquet, this was prepared a little too early in the season for some of the ingredients we wanted to use like the heavenly fresh Stephanotis that matched the flowers embossed on Sheila's wedding gown fabric
Nicholas loved his Boutonniere too we'd designed it to match his Bride's bouquet, it featured a stunning Darcey Rose from David Austin
We decided on large pedestal designs for in Church to frame the ceremony space beautifully
Pew End posies with trailing Amaranthus would look perfect at The White Church
We created two magnificent pedestals featuring a glorious array of Delphiniums, Peonies, Hydrangeas, Stocks, Phlox, Jasmine, Bouvardia, Astilbe, Amaranthus, Peppermint, Rosemary, Scabious, fresh Olive, Grasses and Hostas
Glorious Hot Pink Peonies
Fresh Scabious 'Scoop' and white Bouvardias
The chiller was full to bursting and Team FD were thrilled with the product of their labours
Lily and I were at The Grand Hotel in St Annes to present the Bridal bouquets bright and early
Our fabulous Bride the lovely Sheila was a little over come with happy emotion as I handed over her fragrant bridal bouquet
I showed Sheila and her lovely Bridesmaid Alice how to carry their bouquets perfectly
The Bridesmaid's Bouquet was created using the same flowers as the Bride's Bouquet but in a less cascading style
The Wedding Bouquet was a beautifully relaxed design featuring heavenly trails of tumbling and cascading Jasmine, fresh sweet scented Stephanotis, Carmine Sweet Peas, hot pink Peonies, David Austin's gloriously vibrant English Garden Rose Darcey, delicately lacey Lily of the Valley, fragrant Rosemary, Dill, Oregano, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Asparagus tips, Olive foliage and Bouvardia the entire confection was framed by lovely fronzes of Umbrella Fern
Alice's Bridesmaid's Bouquet was a smaller more posy shaped version of Sheila's Bridal BouquetOur good buddy Sonara Parker was busy making Sheila look even more lovely as we left heading off to The White Church ...
I absolutely love the White Church and we absolutely love the Vicar David too, he really does a brilliant and super personal service every time
Inside this magnificent Church the scene was set for a very special wedding service
The two magnificent pedestals were placed on either side of the ceremony space framing the action and creating an ideal backdrop for the service
Pew End Posies of fresh Peonies, fresh Olive, Rosemary, Oregano and Dill, Sweet Peas, Phlox, Jasmine and trailing Amaranthus hung from each alternate Pew End lining the aisle
On the Altar a beautiful design of Sweet Peas, Peonies, Larkspur and Astilbe swept across the front of the table with plumes of Amaranthus, Jasmine and Sperengerii trailing over the front
Waxflower Blossom & Floribunda Roses
An exquisite Darcey Rose
Wonderfully white Dahlias
The trailing Amaranths in the Pew End Posies was a design feature Sheila was very keen to include and we were more than happy to facilitate
The Pew End Posies included lots of fragranced and perfumed ingredients filling the air with floral and herby scents as the guest and bridal party brushed past them
I lined up the Boutonnieres ready to pin them to Sheila's Bride Groom Nicholas and his Groom's Men
Nicholas' Boutonniere featured a single fresh Darcey Rose from David Austin with fresh Stephanotis, Jasmine, Biedermeir Rose buds, Sweet Peas and Hydrangea Florets with fresh Ivy and herbs
The Boutonnieres were all designed to compliment the bridal bouquets
Sheila's handsome Bride Groom Nicholas was first to have his rather special Boutonniere pinned to his lapel
The Fresh Jasmine florets matched the pattern on the Groom's tie beautifully
I pinned on all of the Boutonnieres ensuring each one was positioned perfectly
The adorable little Flower Girls were next to arrive
We'd made miniature versions of the Bridesmaid's bouquet for them to carry
The fresh flowers in their complimented their bouquets
The beautiful Bridesmaid Alice looked stunning her fabulous bouquet included hot pink Peonies, Jasmine, Sweet Peas and English Garden Roses to co-ordinate with her hot pink dress from Lottie's Bridal Boutique
The Flower Girls were wearing fresh Rose Buds and Stephanotis in their hair
Here comes the Bride in vintage style from Broughton Wedding Cars
Our gorgeous Bride Sheila arrived at Church looking breathtakingly beautiful she was being 'Given away' by her seriously proud Son Henry
We'd particularly chosen Stephanotis and Jasmine as the shape of their flowers matches perfectly the flowers embossed in the fabric of our Bride's gown
Rev. David amusing the Flower Girls
How utterly beautiful!!xxx
It's show time...
Huge & Ginormous Congratulations to Sheila & Nicholas from all of the team here at Flower Design Events
The celebrations moved on to the magical surroundings of The Grand Hotel in St Annes where the drinks reception was being held in the Lytham Suite, we'd dressed the space with two fabulous pedestal designs
The wedding breakfast was being served in The Salon, I do love this bright airy room
The long table down the middle of the room was decorated with a splendid design featuring a slim 'Garden' style centrepiece, it looked almost as if it had grown there
At either end of the long narrow table were two round tables each one dressed with a cluster of vases filled with fresh flowers in the centre
Upwardly striving Larkspur, Delphiniums, Stocks and Astilbe vied for space and attention along the length of the table
Clusters of posies in glass vases dressed the other two round tables in the room
Two lower tables were decorated for the Children to sit and have their meal we'd placed two little posies of fresh flowers in the centre
Fresh Phlox, Peonies & Hydrangeas added depth and texture to the design
Fresh Veronica, Phlox, Scabious, Astilbe and fragrant Herbs
Fresh Stephanotis
Lacey and perfumed Lily of the Valley
Attached to the handle was her 'Something Old, Something New, Something borrowed, Something Blue'
In The Lytham Suite the party was in full swing and the fabulous wedding magician Darren Robinson was entertaining the guests
Our work here was done it was time to leave the party, many thanks to the very gorgeous Sheila & Nicholas, what an absolute joy your wedding has been from start to finish xxxxxx
