The Dower House Hotel

The second venue I am featuring is the Gorgeous Dower House Hotel at Woodall Spa. Another venue that goes above and beyond to help suppliers and it is always a pleasure to visit Ann and her staff. A gem of a venue, it may be a busy hotel but you would never know when holding your wedding here as it is so peaceful.

For starters the gardens are glorious in the summer and should you want an outdoor ceremony you can say your vows under this stunning arbour. Let us dress this for you with a garland either of foliage like this all eucalyptus design

or with a mix of flowers and foliage. Here we have stunning hydrangeas, roses and peony with mixed foliage.

Set under the lovely weeping willow certainly gives it a fairytale setting.

Relax straight after your vows at these gorgeous tables and adorn them with jars of blooms from your reception designs.

Add in a flowery entrance display to lead your guests to their seats

Once inside there is a lovely bar area with comfy seats for those wishing a quiet space especially later on in the day. Again adorn these with displays such as bird cages

jam jars

or posies giving a glimpse of what are to be the main displays for your reception.

Make full use of these and give to special guests as a moment of your wedding.

Whether you are bringing pedestals from your church service or wanting to add taller displays around the room, there are plenty of spaces available.

The top table has many options. From the popular long and low design, complimenting your bouquet

to foliage runner for a sweetheart table

or mixed jars of special blooms the full length of a traditional top table.

Whatever your style we can advise and inspire you to the right displays.

Pew ends can be brought and hung on chair backs

Then on to the guest tables. Although the room has a certain style, I have set up lots of colours and designs and all work well within the room.
The best type of style is country garden, it features so easily within the hotels setting. These jars of seasonal country blooms from a May wedding in mixed pastels along with log slices and moss numbers bring the outside in.

Another May wedding of pinks, jam jars of seasonal flowers and candle.

Purple bird cages

Glass cubes of lots of foliage with orchids and peonies add a touch of glamour to the room.

Or the most elegant setting I have created at this venue. The beautiful stunning crystal chimney candelabra with a mass of purple, lilac and ivory flowers.

The room looked brilliantly elegant when all the candles are lit and flowers placed.

The top table joined in with a low candelabra at each end

The Dower House looking simply stunning, one of my favourite ever set ups.

Country style flowers at The Dower House Hotel

I was lucky to set up at the fabulous Dower House Hotel two weeks running as C & A held their wedding reception here following on from this one last week.

The table centrepieces were in keeping with the bridal bouquets of a mix of country style flowers. These were made into posies and placed in our plain hurricane vases which were decorated with pretty blue ribbon.

To finish off the country look the jars were placed on our log slices. These worked really well with the lovely moss numbers for the tables.

The Dower House really is versatile, so many styles work well within this hotel and each set up we do is individual to the couple.

The flowers used were ammi, eustoma, carnations, santini chrysants, nigella, alstroemeria and gyp with some eucalyptus foliage.

This was an early wedding, ceremony 11.30 am (at Church) and as such our early delivery of the bridal bouquets and quick set up in church meant for once the hotel hadn't quite turned the room around from breakfast. The guest tables were ready but not the top table but as lovely as ever the staff offered to put the 3 vases on the table once they were ready. It is little touches like this which
makes setting up here so lovely.

The view the bride would see from the top table.

This photo shows the designs from above so you can see the variety of flowers within.

The Dower House Hotel setting of a gorgeous May wedding

Following on from yesterday's post (here) of the bridal flowers, today's post is a look at the venue flowers.
The Dower House Hotel is a fabulous place to hold a wedding and I love setting up here as the staff are all so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. It also helps that the whole place is set in fantastic surroundings, see these photos below. Who wouldn't love to get married in this space? If the weather is fine this could be where you say your vows!

The bride asked if we could decorate the arbour with a eucalyptus garland down the from two pillars as they were hoping for an outdoor ceremony.

It was quite overcast when setting up and the final decision hadn't been made but I believe they went ahead and chairs and decorations were brought out in time.

These pillars are great for decorating and look fabulous in the photos

The couple continued the foliage theme for their sweetheart table with another garland dripping off the ends and a few trailing whisps at the front.

If you cannot agree on who should be on the top table or have family issues then this is perfect. Just the two of you. Allows you to spend the meal catching your breath and relaxing together.
Many couples say afterwards that they don't really get to chat together through the day with visiting family and friends to catch up with so this table for 2 allows you time and space to do just that.

We provided a vase for the bridal bouquet to sit in to add a pop of colour.

The guest tables were posies of the same flowers as the bridal bouquets placed in glass cubes.

The peonies would, hopefully, spring open in the heat of the venue.

The tables at The Dower House are always so well dressed. The mirrors were added by the venue as they just lift the designs once in situ.

I always love tables that use 'the less is more' attitude. Simple and classy and allows your guests room to move.

These flowers settle in the warm room and they started filling the space with their light scent, adding another dimension to your day.

These types of designs are great to double up as gifts for your very special guests. The flowers are tied together with ribbon so whether you hire or buy the vases the flowers can be given out at the end of the day.

The beautiful room at The Dower House Hotel

The room eagerly awaiting the happy couple and their guests.

I always like to take a photo or two of the view from the top table, this gives you the bride (or groom) a chance to see what you will spend the afternoon looking at. After all it is your ideas, style and hard work that has gone into planning the event.

Are you getting married at The Dower House Hotel? I have set up here many times previously see here for one example or visit 'labels' - Venue:The Dower House Hotel for more.
Having worked here previously I know what works and what doesn't and am happy to advise you on your styling and flowers so you get the most from your ideas for the day.

I look forward to hearing from you soon
