Our Colmar Christmas market-ing

Our Colmar Christmas market-ing

Colmar at Christmas time was magical and freezing.

One of our souvenirs was both of us coming home with intense colds. Bleh.

But it is so charming! Beauty and the Beast, anyone??

The funniest thing about getting to this little town was how many countries surrounded us when we landed in Basel, Switzerland. When we got off the plane, there were two labeled doors: Germany or France. We
La Sagrada Familia

La Sagrada Familia

We got on the Hop on-Hop Off tour bus from Plaza Catalunya to get to La Sagrada Familia (no. 5 on TripAdvisor's recent Traveler's Choice list of Top 25 Landmarks of the World!)

Even if you see all the pictures, nothing compares to standing in front of Antoni Gaudi's masterpiece (still incomplete...decades later)

We stepped off the bus and our mouths were just hanging open the whole time.
Barcelona - the crazy beginning

Barcelona - the crazy beginning

Let me tell you a little story. I check airline fares weekly. In Europe there are a few low-fare airlines (like RyanAir and EasyJet) through which European travel becomes beautifully cheap. Of course, you give up selecting your seat, free in-flight drinks and any semblance of leg room but hey, Germany, Italy and everywhere else is less than $100 away.

So my birthday was coming up and I decided
L'aquarium - Port Vell Barcelona

L'aquarium - Port Vell Barcelona

We visited this beautiful aquarium in the oldest part of Barcelona Harbour, Port Vell.

We hit the aquarium late, seriously less than an hour before it closed and we enjoyed the place crowd-free!

Not gonna lie, stingrays freak me out.

Poisonous puffer fish!

The coolest part is easily this 80-meter section where you go underwater and the sharks are swimming around
Boqueria!

Boqueria!

This was recommended to us by a few friends and it was worth the time!

Good, beautiful food is always worthwhile...

Marzipan and gummies. So fun!

Allllll the chocolate

We picked out flavours like white pear, pineapple, mandarin and raspberry.
SOFTEST, powerfully sweet flavours.....for 1 million dollars! jk but seriously it was so much more expensive than I would've
Winter Wonderland 2015!

Winter Wonderland 2015!

Taylor has been talking to anyone who would listen about Winter Wonderland since we went last Christmas.

And it's definitely bigger and better than last year!

It's free to get in and open from 10-10 but we definitely went at a good time. 2pm on a Saturday and stayed until 5:30 when the masses really started rolling in.

We made a beeline direct to our favourite ride from last year. WILDE

We read the weekly TimeOut magazine for news of the week's activities.

We've found some pretty great stuff to do and new food places to try in those pages.

a list of the best toasted cheese sandwiches aka Grilled Cheese? YES, PLEASE

But first, a walk through the produce...

My eyes have been opened. I had NO idea that this is how brussel sprouts grow!

Cambridge MBA Experience day

Cambridge MBA Experience day

The future is a fickle thing. It can be exciting, terrifying and as hard to see as the trees are through this fog...

(taken from the train from London Kings Cross headed north to Cambridge, UK)

While we figure out where we go from here, we get to investigate the options.

This day of adventure took us to Cambridge University!
Taylor found information about an MBA experience day at the
Temple and Croydon

Temple and Croydon

Weekends are so special. At this time of our lives, it means we get to soak up 48 hours of being together.

We attended the London England LDS Temple. It is about 30 miles from the City of London.

For people who don't have a car, the public transport from the City to the Temple consists of either hiring a small bus with a bunch of other people or taking the train and a cab or a series of

144th British Open - St Andrews, Fife, Scotland

Once upon a time, I married a man who loves golf. I cared very little for it before I met him and have slowly acquired minimal knowledge (still close to none really) about the sport. But I love this man so much that I would try my best to make his dreams come true if I can.

He wanted to see the 144th British Open.

SOOooo we rented a car and drove across the country (8 hours) to get to St
