The Summer Classics

Throughout the Summer, I find it almost impossible to avoid the classics - pinks and florals. These two factors are my fashion essentials in times where I 'don't have anything to wear' or 'anything Summer appropriate'.  Summer is also a season known for the lighter, vibrant colours to pop out! Pale pinks can look incredibly sophisticated under the sun's glow, making the colour perfect for evening wear alongside the entirety of the day.

To add something extra to my block colour outfits, I love wearing light, detailed kimonos to 'spice up' my attire. For today's Summer look, I've opted for this rose-patterned kimono - the weightless, flowing material and cuffed hands worn over a strapped white crop feels comfortable under the Summer heat (looks like we finally have some this year in England!!). The mid-length pastel skirt can be easily flaunted at Summer events, evenings out or simply at a family barbecue; the thick mesh strip at the bottom was my favourite touch to the skirt, initially temping me into buy it!

Floral crowns are another of Summer's many hypes - especially for all the festival lovers. I believe choosing the right flower type/colour for your hair is vital when attempting to accentuate an outfit. For me, I always accessorize with white as it contrasts and complements my dark brunette locks. You can find these beautiful bad boys in shop and online - they are everywhere at the minute. Primark do lots of great deals on headpieces (usually ranging from £1-£3!).

The sun really brings out my skin's natural radiance; therefore, I turn to my BB creams during Summer. Fortunately, this is handy as less coverage makeup feels lighter on the skin. However, you know me, I don't love anything more than full coverage so it is very rare that I'm comfortable in my skin. To complement the 'pink overload', I popped some Bourjois Jasper Rose on my cheeks to add a rosy sparkle with the NYX Matte Lipstick in Aubrey to incorporate some vibrancy into my look.

Finally, I decided to add a gold chained, pink floral necklace to my look - as if this outfit wasn't girly enough? Statement necklaces are a winner in Summer - they make such a beautiful addition if you are wearing low cut tops and block colours.

Noir Lace Up ¦ Boutique of Molly

Online boutiques are my weakness. I cannot get enough of their incredibly designed, celebrity-style clothing for just a small percentage of the original product's price. Recently, through the blogging industry, I have discovered Boutique of Molly; an amazing online fashion heaven that sells everything from luxurious to casual wear. Rather swiftly, I became a huge fan of their 'Alexa Lace Up Playsuit' - a comfort-fit, back lace up playsuit that I appeared to be lacking in my wardrobe.

¦ Fur Coat - Matalan ~ Playsuit  - Boutique of Molly ¦

For evening wear, I usually opt for something black. I know this can be quite boring but I feel that it can then be worn all year round, thus getting the most use out of it. This playsuit is very summer appropriate, with two thin cami straps and the partially-backless lace detailing. However, I still feel this can be worn seasonally as the outfit can be accompanied by a complementary fluffy coat.

Material-wise, the fabric used feels sturdy and rather luxurious, considering the cheap price. The material clings to you body, corset-style, enhancing your body shape and hugging at any curves. I am in now way, shape or form happy with my figure but this outfit gives me more confidence as it generously brings out the subtle curves on my body.

Also, the playsuit has two front pockets, which is always an added bonus for me. Personally, I hate wearing coats when I'm going to a party; it is always a hassle trying to find somewhere to store it. Therefore, these pockets are fab to store the small essentials needed - money, phone and possibly a lipstick to top up with.

Head over to Boutique of Molly to browse their different collections (I'm always lusting over their luxury collection)!

Jumper - Urban Outfitters (£32.00)
Jeans - Select (17.99)
Boots - Primark (£22.99)

I threw this little boxing day outfit together and really liked the overall look. The Urban Outfitters jumper I received at Christmas is gorgeous;the auburn, mustard and black colours are so complementary, making the piece jump out in my wardrobe. I love new clothing that is so different from anything you've worn before - such a lovely feeling to have a change :-)

I'm so excited with what this year holds. My new years resolutions are:

  •  To lose weight until I'm happy with my figure!
  • Improve my flexibility.
  • Be more positive towards situations instead of entering them negatively.
  • Take a photo every day of the year (I did this last year in a private facebook album and it is so cool to look back on)
  • Save my money.
  • Try out new beauty products rather than sticking to the same ones every day.
  • Try new foods (I'm really fussy and want to eat like a normal human being)
  • Have my blog reach 30,000 views and 3,000 followers.

What are your New Year's Resolutions?

~ Winter Ball ~

Hey Everyone! Sorry for the lack of seasonal posts (not that this is any better) but A levels have literally taken over my life, along with extra activities like pantomime rehearsals and driving lessons. Hopefully I will keep this up over the Winter holidays and the New Year because I would love to be as active as I was during the Summer!!

Anyway, today I'd like to write about my Friday Evening at my school's Winter Ball - celebrating the hard work we've all put into playing on the Foosball table in the common room  our AS/A levels so far and to, of course, celebrate Christmas itself. I absolutely loved the venue, the colours used to decorate were very seasonally appropriate and the dance floor was so much better than my prom!!

Onto my favourite part... GETTING READY!

As always, makeup is the best part whenever I'm getting ready to go out. The focus tonight was on my eyes because I wanted them to match my silver and black outfit. Before applying facial makeup, I went straight to my eyes because when black is involved, fallout is crazy!!! I stuck cellotape from underneath the corner of my eye to the point of my brow to create a smooth, neat line where the shadow and liner would finish. Urban Decay's Naked 2 palette came in handy; I applied verve over the top of Mac's Bare Study to form a silver undertone on the lid, followed by pistol in the crease to begin layering. Black Out, an intense, pure black, was placed in the outer corner and crease layer by layer until built to my desired look. I finished my eyes by placing silver glitter all over my lid.

I wore large, silver statement jewellery to cover up big areas of bare skin - i.e my neck and arms. I absolutely love the black and silver theme I went for, despite originally planning to wear royal blue, like my bestie Jess. Also, Jess offered to curl my locks because I wanted to make my hair really voluminous and bouncy to take attention away from my chubby face.

Before leaving for the ball, Jess and I met with our friend Harvey to take some cute selfies. We also had a couple glasses of Prosecco - maybe Harvey had a few too many glasses...

The night finished up being one of the best nights I've had in a long while. I absolutely loved spending time outside of school with new, and old, friends and having so much fun. Surprisingly, the music was fab too and everyone was dancing the entire evening (none of that awkward, tense atmosphere with noone on the dance floor).

Thank you for reading, I hope to be posting again before Christmas. What would you like to see?

My Jim Kersie Experience | Purple & Gold

Deep purple, plum and auburn are colours I opt for when putting together autumnal outfits - don't we all?! Something that has made a statement this year, for me personally, is the use of jewellery equipped with my chosen outfit. Having an evergrowing colletion of beautiful jewellery pieces, both subtle and bold, I have never seen, through my many years of hoarding, a bracelet quite like this one.

Jim Kersie is a Melbourne-originated brand that specialises in phenomenally hand crafted bracelets - each having an element of individuality. Currently, Jim Kersie have 6 unique collections in which you can chose your desired colour/one that is suited to you. With the wide range of products and colours, I'm sure everyone can find something perfect for them..

...and for me...that was this autumnal-screaming piece -

I am a enormous purple lover, hence the multiple purple items surrounding my new, beloved trinket. On receiving my product, it was luxuriously encased in a sleek, black gift box and mini leather drawstring bag with the 'JK' intials imprinted in wealthy gold. The packaging extremely impressed me - I feel like packaging can 'make or break' a company's professionalism and respectibility and JIM KERSIE definitely lived up to my standards!

Focusing now on the jewellery piece itself, I was in awe at the array of purples chosen to craft this gorgeous bracelet. It is subtle in size, which is fabulous for everyday wear because it doesn't get in the way or get caught on clothing. I also thought the 'JK' embossed 22kt Golden beads were a lovely touch as well - gold and purple compliment each other wonderfully and add a bold statement to an evening outfit.

10/10 recommend this brand from everything of the warm customer service to the neatly packaged product. This would make a wonderful Christmas gift for your mother, auntie, cousin or friend - especially with the free giftbox included! (There are also some lovely male structured pieces too, so don't forget to check them out!)

Do you change your jewellery during A/W? What colours do you usually steer toward wearing?

OOTD | Sixth Form Edition

If are lucky enough to have gone or been to sixth form like myself, you will know the struggle of planning an outfit every single day. For me, I honestly see it extremely stressful to buy new clothes that fit the 'smart-casual' standard alongside being versatile so you can pair them with other pieces in your wardrobe. Besides this, I haven't yet developed the ability to collate a suitable outfit in the morning so it has become a chore to plan a night in advance.

Anyway, enough of me complaining..let us get onto the outfit!

Trousers - Primark (only in store, but similar here)
Necklace - New look (similar here)
Bracelet - Pandora
Shoes - Primark

Overall, this look has a sophisticated element to it, perfect for schools that are strictly formal wear. This year, I have become a great fan of patterned trousers and would love to find more that suit me and could wear to school. If any of you know of specific items or shops that sell some, please leave a comment below. Also, I went all out on makeup in this particular look - the gorgeous Eylure 071 lashes came out, implementing an elegant edge. Oh, and my go-to nude lip at the moment is Mac's Mehr!!

What are your favourite fashion pieces of A/W 2015?

Gold & Subtle | Orelia Jewellery

During this time of year, I seem to approach my golden jewellery more often than usual. Autumn, for me personally, is a time for golden, warmer tones so my beloved silver-wear gets shoved to the back of my jewellery box for a while. Additionally, this year I've gained a growing passion for subtle accessories to incorporate a little extra to my outfits.

Therefore, I couldn't do anything but get excited when contacted by Orelia Jewellery early September to collaborate on a post including their gorgeous products. I've been a huge fan of this trusted brand for some time now; they work alongside well-known brands, like topshop, to deliver the best jewels to girls who loooove adding a little sparkle to their attire.

As seen on the left of the photo, you are introduced to a pretty rectangular crystal bar thread necklace with 4 diamontes in the centre. This is a necklace I've been pairing with many of my sixth form outfits; it is so versatile and works with absolutely everything/any occasion. One of those must-have jewellery pieces, I think!

My favourite of the three pieces has to be this Star Lariat bangle - this thin, simple golden bangle is fastened by a star through a cut-out moon. I love this very subtle but unique look - the night theme is appealing and would be a great addition to an evening outfit. This also reminds me of bonfire night, everyone spends their evening outside roasting marshmallows, sitting around a campfire or watching fireworks - one of my favourite days in the A/W period.

Finally, I was kindly gifted a stunning Open Circle Crystal Stone ring. The simplistic detailing instantly drew me in - understated, small rings are something I enjoy adding to any combination. The use of both contrasting jewellery colours also appealed to me because you get the best of both worlds and I get to include a little sparkle to the outfit. (BONUS!!!)

If you've never heard of Orelia before, where have you been? You definitely need to take a browse at the wonderful things they have to offer; they cater to anyone's jewellery preferences and needs!

Thank you so much to Etail Pr for giving me this oppurtunity; if you're a smaller blogger who wants to get noticed and take part in collaborations, sign up at ETAIL PR ASAP!!!
