London's Greatest Hits Part 2

Afternoon tea, Photo Ops and Markets!

Portobello Market

Portobello Road, headed up to the market. It's just as picturesque as you can imagine.
(update: just went this week and this particular spot is covered by construction :( )

You'll find food, produce, clothing, leather goods and antiques up and down the length of Portobello Road. On Saturday and Sunday, it is a fully pedestrian

The Colombia Road Flower Market has the potential to be the most amazing place in London

but....

it's such a tourist trap now that it is actually painful to think about going. The crowds were unreal. The sheer number of bodies trying to get down the street between the stalls was suffocating. You couldn't actually stop to admire flowers or inquire about prices because you could get

Hey friends! Boring but info-packed post on just about everything you need to know to about your travel itinerary to and from the multiple London airports.

While most major airlines will land you in London Heathrow airport, flying out of London on the handy Europe low-fare airlines will not take you back to good old LHR.

Henley-on-Thames

A couple of weeks ago, we found this interesting list of day trips from London while trying to drum up some reviews to help us prioritise our weekend adventures (we are getting better and better at making the most of Friday-Sunday trips and Saturday only day trips)

We made a beeline direct to our favourite ride from last year. WILDE

We read the weekly TimeOut magazine for news of the week's activities.

We've found some pretty great stuff to do and new food places to try in those pages.

Family Visit to London - Feb 2015

We wanted to show off our city to our first family visitor!

We walked from the Waterloo Bridge to the Shard. It's about a mile and a half walk along the river Thames so we got to see some iconic London sights on the 30 min walk on the Southbank.

First stop: Get the view from the Top of the Shard. This is the tallest building in Western Europe. It houses a hotel, corporate offices and
