7 Ways to Highlight and Glow

You know them days when you are feeling ill, you're having a bad day or your skin just looks plain dull, if you do...I'm here to help! I've collated 7 my favourite 'pick-me-up' products to make you glow and shine right from within, and out. Today, I've chosen to talk about face and eyes products, as I believe they are the most prominent facial features to brighten up your daily look.

First up, we have the Simple Illuminating Radiance Cream (£7.99). This is the more generalised, all over glow product; you can wear this simply on its own all over the face or personally I like to use it as a primer or mixed with my foundation. The overall effect is gorgeous, especially in winter, as there are tiny glitter flecks running throughout that make your face physically sparkle.

The second face product that works absolute wonder is the YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Concealer (£24). If you want to highlight specific areas of the face (eg, under eyes, cheek bones, nose etc) then this is perfect for you! With the applicator being in pen form, it is extremely handy for precision and focusing on particular areas of the face. This one is super good for creating the Kim K under eye highlight shabam.

The final three face products are various formulated highlighters - a cream, powder and liquid. Soap and Glory Glow All Out (£11) has lovely peachy undertones that look ultra pretty in the sun when applied to the cheekbones, completely uplifting the face. Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Shimmer Touch 001 Flush of Pearl (£4.99) is a liquified formula that presents a similar colour to that of Glow All Out. However, this holds a greater glow, due to its liquid formula. Finally, Benefit's Watt's Up (£24.50) is my ultimate highlight - it is a creamy dream come true! An intense champagne coloured product which is super easy to blend - what more could you ask for?

Lastly, we are looking at the eye products of today's post. Mac's Vanilla Pigment (£17) and Calvin Klein's Eyeshadow Bare Silk (£12) are beautiful white/cream/neutral eye essentials. CK's cream shadow is great for a glowing white shadow base, it is very pigmented too. Vanilla is another fave - this one is amazing for inner corner highlight and making them brow bones shine.

Sorry for the excessive use of words like 'highlight', 'glow' and 'radiance' in this post, but I'm sure you will live, eh??? Hope you are all having a lovely weekend - keep smiling!

Top 5 | Concealers

Hey guys!
So today I have decided to put together my top 5 go-to concealers, featuring 4 inexpensive blemish hiders and a slightly pricey one for those who love splurging on a good ol' highend face product.

Collection Lasting Perfection (RRP £4.19) - Although this is the least expensive, I would say that this concealer has the best coverage over them all. When you first buy this, the formulation is creamy, blend easily, hides any redness and rids any dark under eye circles. The only issue is that the texture can become cakey on the face and very drying; it usually only remains creamy if you use the whole thing in less than a month. Personally, I would buy this if you are in need of a good under eye concealer but go for a more expensive one if you want to get longer use of your money.

Maybelline Instant Anti-age Erase Eye (RRP £7.99) - My latest concealer purchase is this little beauty. I have been using this for the past month and loving the results. I would say this concealer can last 2-3 months, so not too bad. Also, the formula is very creamy, thus won't cling to any dry patches on the skin. I have this in the lightest shade so it can also be good for slight and subtle highlight in the centre of the face.

Helen E Cover It (RRP £8.00) - Cover It has to be the one for those who love to brighten their under eye area. Unlike the Collection one, it doesn't give great coverage but instead brightens your under eyes so they are practically glowing! I always apply this, or a shade from my E.L.F concealer palette, before applying a coverage giving concealer.

NYX HD Photogenic (RRP £8.49) - The one for intense highlight definitely has to be the NYX HD Photogenic concealer - this is incredible for Kim Kardashian under eye highlight. I apply shed loads of this stuff on my dark circles when I've been getting little sleep or going to a party to help highlight my face. This concealer is also great for central highlight, so looks amazing blended onto the forehead, nose, cupid's bow and chin.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat (RRP £25.00) - Although the packaging can get a little messy, like the Maybelline one, I love how easy the application is with this styled concealer. Little product is wasted, as all is pushed to the brush and it doesn't dry out as easy as the ones with plastic wands. My favourite things about this concealer is that it is very long lasting, remains on the face for the entire day, still holds highlight even when held with powder and makes my face looks so healthily radiant.

Let me know you favourite concealers in the comments below. I love trying out new concealers, espeically ones with extremely high coverage! Thanks for reading X

The Perfect Pink

Hello everyone - I want to tell you about the latest edition to my lipstick collection. It is a YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in '01 Nude Beige' and it's the most gorgeous girly pink. I have been wanting one of these lipsticks for a while now, not just for the beautiful golden packaging, but for the amazing reviews I've read online about these wonderful things. I've only wore it a few times, since I'm scared of it running out already! Once again... my boyfriend decided to spoil me and bought it pour moi!

This 'Sensual, Radiant and Silky' described lipstick is encased in the most heavenly golden packaging. I can't begin to describe how beautiful it looks sitting on my dressing table; it also has by far the most aesthetically pleasing look compared to any of my other lipsticks.

I totally agree with the description about it being radiant because the marvellous pigmentation allows the lipstick to be easily built up to your desired colour. Also, it ticks the box of being silky, as it has the most soft, moisturising finish and feel on the lips. The colour is honestly amazing too and I am super happy with the shade it creates on my lips - a girly summer pink, that some people would describe as a pinky-nude.

Swatch (after one swipe)
I am so so excited to wear this throughout the whole of my summer holidays because I think it is the perfect feminine pink that will go with almost every outfit! As it is rather pricey at £25, which I know for certain not everyone will want to fork out for a single lipstick, so I've heard from a close friend that an almost identical dupe is Mac's Cremecup (£15), which is fairly cheaper. I'm sure you can find a drugstore dupe for this as well so just let me know in the comments below if you know anything similar that is cheaper than £15.

As an added bonus, my boyfriend managed to find a deal that included two mini samples to arrive with the full sized product. These happened to be a YSL mascara, which looks a decent size for a highend sample. Finally, I got a little tube filled with YSL's manifesto fragrance; it smells amazing! If you ever get the chance or pass by a YSL counter, you have to go and smell this one.

My outro is becoming boringly repetitive but I'm so sorry that I haven't posted in a week or so - I will try to be organised as much as I can but I can't promise anything as I'm going on holiday a few times over the Summer. Thank you for those who are sticking around - I love you all...

Goodbye Xxx
