Tips to Choose a Flattering Bridesmaid Dress

Your best friend since first grade, your sister, your sorority gal pals — chances are, these ladies have always been there for you, way before you had that shiny diamond ring on your finger! Who are they? They're your bridesmaids, the girls who will help you prep before the ceremony, smooth out the train of your gown and offer their support as you say "I do" to your soulmate! These ladies have a special job to do, so you'll want to make sure they look gorgeous and polished while they're standing by your side on the big day!

Still, picking bridesmaid dresses that coordinate with one another can be tough — unless you're a professional stylist or fashion expert. Since many of us don't have that title to our names, we've decided to enlist the professionals! The wonderful team from eDressit has graciously agreed to share their advice for helping you and your 'maids navigate the fitting room — and we can't wait to hear what they have to say!

1. Pick a unifying element. Whether you're pro at matching bridesmaid dresses or not, something should tie your bridal party together style-wise. Pick at least one aspect of your bridesmaids "look" — be it the color, neckline or fabric — that unifies the group. This could even be a surprising add-on accessory, like a fun shrug or bolero.

2. Coordinate your fabrics. It's going to look odd if you're wearing a soft, flowy chiffon gown, while your bridesmaids wear structured taffeta shifts. Choose a fabric for the bridesmaid dresses that complements your own.
http://www.edressit.com/edressit-empire-waist-long-lace-sleeves-gown-with-v-cut-00150701-_p3852.html

3. Choose a length. Again, not all of your dresses need to match, but they should be the same length. Be sure to set a few guidelines. You definitely don't want one of your 'maids "hemming up" the agreed upon tea-length skirt when all of your other gowns are the same length!

4. Select a style that flatters. Choose silhouettes that work well with your bridesmaids "body types." It is important to look great. Every bridesmaid has special body figure. So, you need to choose appropriate dress according to their respective figures. You can choose the convertible bridesmaid dresses, same color similar style dresses or those dresses suit them all.

5. Alter as needed. Even though bridesmaids shouldn't go rogue with alterations, the girls in your group should get their dresses tailored to their bodies. It may cost a few extra dollars, but the alternative is having a poorly-fitted dress that no one will want to wear or see ever again.

6. Listen to your bridesmaids. At the end of the day, having an unhappy bridesmaid helps no one. If a friend is giving you flack about her dress, try to work with her as much as possible. Is the fit bothering her? Does the dress cost too much? Troubleshooting the problem before the big day will make everyone happier.

This way, bridesmaid dresses would be more perfect. Wish you a happy wedding!

Natives for a Beach Wedding in March

thanks to the lovely bride for sharing this image

Tasmania's beaches are some of the most beautiful in the world.  We are surrounded by sea so our coastline is vast.  There are so many beautiful beaches we are spoilt for choice and when we do visit, we often find that we have the beach to ourselves.  So it's no surprise that beach weddings are popular during the warmer months.

March is early autumn here in Tassie, and can be a brilliant time for weddings.

This March was warmer than usual and there was plenty of variety to play with to create some native bouquets.

The lovely bride wanted green, orange and cream with gum nuts.  Her attendant was her mum, wearing a salmon coloured dress.

For the bride I used a late flowering Pincushion variety called "Fountain",   Protea Pink Ice, and Protea Repens in a rich salmony pink.

Beautiful Birdsnest Banksia or Banksia Baxterii in creamy yellow, and Brunia Albiflora which had started flowering were the other large flowers used.  You can also see some smaller creamy Banksia Marginata, a locally occurring Banksia.

Flowering Eucalyptus Cordata, a gorgeous Tasmanian blue leafed gum which is usually used as a foliage plant, was budding and blossoming at just the right time to be used as a detail flower.  You can also see Grevillea foliage, Leucadendron Silver Tree foliage, Inca Gold Leucadendrons at their rich bronzy green stage, sprigs of lemon-scented Leptospermum or Tea Tree, and of course the gum nuts that the bride requested.  They are Corymbia Ficifolia nuts, beautiful urn shaped woody fruits that really make a statement in an Australian Native bouquet.

Mum's bouquet was slightly smaller, leaving out the salmon pink Protea Repens.

I love the orange tones against that blue suit!  Great colours for the beach-scape.

Beautiful!  They look so happy, and thats what it's all about isn't it!  Such a treat to be involved!

Cloud 10 Beauty | ft. Sleek & Blank Canvas

Changing my makeup routine is something that occurs seasonally, especially the transition from the cool winter tones to vibrant summer shades. Summer is all about colour for me - I love to spice up my eyeshadow routine by adding a splash of colour to my crease or applying a dramatic orange lip. Either way, I am always excited to increase my Summer appropriate makeup collection. As you will see throughout the next few months, many of my upcoming posts will show you how I like to style my clothes, what I get up to and of course, my go-to makeup of the ever-loved season of Summer.

Today's post includes a beautiful little palette chaperoned by a very practical blending brush...more onto that later. First, I'm here to talk about Cloud 10 Beauty - an incredible online online retailer, similar to Feel Unique, that sells some of the nation's most popular brands including : Sleek, Bioderma, Bourjois, theBalm, EOS, Eylure, Sigma and many other worldwide favourites. Want to know the products I received in my first ever parcel from Cloud 10 Beauty? Then carry on reading, I'm sure you will love the palette as much as I do...

Storm - one of the most raved about palettes since I bought my first product Sleek product. I was ecstatic when I received this; an array of deep colours that push me out of my comfort zone. I'm not one to wear lots of bright, 'out-there' shades, as I don't think they suit me but I do love to add a pop of colour to an Summer outfit. This palette will do just the job because the blue and green shadows are toned down, allowing those who aren't as comfortable at pulling off crazy colour, like myself, the chance to branch out a bit more. Prior to this package, I own and have tried Sleek shadows before so I was expecting great things from this palette. The creamy and highly pigmented formula enabled the product to be applied onto both the lid and the crease with ease. Pigmentation is something I love about eyeshadow; the product can last for ages as you only need the tiniest amount on your brush. Also, the chalky texture allows efficient blending - when I first swatched the Sleek shadows in store, I was scared about the chalky feel. However, the product is easily blendable and simply to work with. I would also recommend applying this before face makeup as you can get a lot of fall out on your cheeks. Finally, the palette is filled with matte and shimmer shades - the shimmer are so pretty for evening wear and the matte shades are insane as transition colours. My favourite shades are Sand Storm (a golden glitter), Perfect Storm (a rose gold) and Storm Cloud (a cool-toned green, not my usual type but I think it will look pretty against dark eyes).

Cloud 10 Beauty clearly thought about practicality when they generously sent a blending brush alongside the palette. This was exciting as I had never used, or heard of, Blank Canvas Cosmetics before; an Irish Cosmetics brand that sell brushes, applicators and makeup products. The brush sent was perfect to fit comfortably in my crease, not too big and not too small. The thin, fluffy bristles allow product to be swept over the lid, creating a soft finish as well as being flexible to fit into the crease. E10 was utilised to my advantage; this is simply because I do not get on with the doe-foot applicators present in drugstore, and even highend, shadow palettes. They always apply products too cakey onto my lid and feel rough against my skin. Fortunately, Blank Canvas Cosmetics had soft-haired brushes that left my lids in good, healthy condition, as they should be! Haha! If you want to pick up a bargain, definitely head over to Cloud 10 Beauty through the link above as all eye brushes are below £10 which is insane for the quality you are given.

Let me know if you wish to see an in-depth eye look revolving around these two products, either on my blog or my upcoming Youtube channel.

Do you own anything from Sleek or Blank Canvas? What is your go-to eye look for the Summer?

Lots of love
