We have had an absolute blast with Claire and her gorgeous Mum Julie, planning the flowers for this glorious wedding day really has been an absolute joy. I do love May weddings, the flowers are always luscious and blousy, all my favourites are in season Peonies, English Garden Roses, Sweet peas, Lily of the Valley, Hydrangeas, Astilbe, Larkspur and so, so much more, this wedding day had them all in a very pretty colour palette; soft blush pinks, rose golds and ivory.
I also love Cartmel it's one of the prettiest villages with the most sensational Church the iconic Cartmel Priory a jewel in our northern crown! and the venue for the nuptials, the celebrations were being held at the equally famous Cartmel Racecourse with the great folks from Campbell & Rowley's providing some stunning food and event management.

We'd met up with Claire & Julie to talk through the mood board back at the beginning of the year, Claire had done a beautiful job including all of the details that were important to her and Craig.
We invited them back to the FD Events studio to see a set of sample designs we'd created just for them, we'd made Claire a beautiful wedding bouquet of Peonies, Roses, Sweet peas and Astilbe
The handle of the bouquet was bound and then tied with twist knots in blush pink
We'd made Craig a Boutonniere to match his Bride's Bouquet
A sample of the Top Table Swag of fresh flowers designed using fresh Roses, Hydrangeas and Sweet peas with gold candlesticks and votives
A spectacular FD Flower Bomb with the conical vase filled with fresh flowers and topped with floral magnificence, we'd suspended some tea light orbs and surrounded the base with rose gold tea light votives
One of our golden Candelabras was also made as a sample so that Claire & Julie could choose the design they preferred the most, in the end they decided on a mixture using both the Flower Bombs and the Golden Candelabras
At long last the big day had arrived, our Lily, Jason & I were at Claire's parents house bright and early to present the bouquets, layers of tissue protect the bouquets and help keep the cool and the moisture in the box, perfect for a big reveal!
A box filled with floral delightfulness...

Lily, Jason & I moved our attention over to the splendid Priory Church of St Mary & St Michael in Cartmel
Fresh Larkspur, Tuberosa, Stocks, Astilbe, Roses, peonies and Hydrangeas topped our super tall urns and pedestals outside the Church door, the fragrance was just lovely
Just inside the Porch two more pedestals welcomed the guests giving them the first insight into the colour scheme for the day
Lily busy attaching the pew end posies to each alternate pew end lining the aisle
Posies tied with golden ribbons of fresh Roses, Peonies, Sweet peas and Spirea dressed the pews beautifully
We had two more pedestals at the head of the aisle and two at the foot of the aisle framing the ceremony space perfectly
Just inside the porch I'd lined up the boutonnieres ready to pin them on the Bride Groom and his Groom's Men
Claire's super handsome Bride Groom Craig was first to have his Boutonniere pinned to his lapel
We'd used a beautiful Sweet Avalanche Rose with Bombastic Rose Buds, Larkspur florets with Sweet peas and Spirea Blossom, the boutonniere was bound in blue satin to match his jacket perfectly
I pinned on all of the Groom's men's boutonnieres ensuring each one was positioned exactly, their boutonniere's were slightly smaller than the Bride Groom's boutonniere ensuring Craig stood out as The Bride Groom.
