We have had such a blast arranging the wedding flowers for Greg & Scott's wedding at The Shireburn Arms. We were looking forward to working alongside the fabulous Zoie Carter-Ingham and can't wait to see her images, they are always magical! also on board and really integral to the nautical themes was the brilliant Deanna Spurr from Deannamic Designs, we loved her 'Compass' Seating Plan such a brilliant concept.
Greg is in the Navy and though we'd met him before when he was Best Man for Noel & Amanda (Link to their wedding), it meant that all of the face to face planning was done with the very lovely Scott.
It was important to Scott to include lots of important elements, things that mattered to both of them, though he was far away making sure that Greg's thoughts and wishes were taken into account were paramount.
Scott and Greg's fabulous mood board was simple but clearly showed their themes and ideas, their subsequent brief and a sensible budget helped us to come up with some designs at their next appointment
We invited them to come back to see a set of sample designs, including Boutonniere ideas, Bouquets for their Bridesmaids and table design suggestions, we decided to use materials with an 'under the sea quality' not obviously floral, more coral like if you will.
We included Sea Holly 'Eryngium', Cardifolium Leucaspernum, Berries, Albiflora and Proteas
Posies of fresh Proteas with Shells and Star Fish
Tall spectacular vases topped with textured floral magnificence
An idea for their Top Table, featured candles, Coral, Shells and fresh Proteas, Sea Holly & Albiflora
Table centrepiece suggestion utilising the Bridesmaid's Bouquets (there were six Bridesmaids so it would have been sacrilege not to use them)
A suggestion for dressing the chairs during the ceremony
An idea for Greg's Boutonniere
Another Boutonniere idea with two gorgeous Ranunculus
At long last the big day arrived and our Chloe & Claire lined up the boutonnieres ready to pin them on to the two Groom's and their respective Groom's Men & Groom's Ladies
Scott's Beautiful Boutonniere incorporated petals from a Protea, Seashells, Sea Holly, Albiflora, Astrantia and Nuton Petals
We included lots of exquisite texture in the boutonnieres fresh Muscari, Berries, Eryngium & Albiflora
Mum's gorgeous blush corsage of Rolled Petals, Astrantia, Blossoms and baby Proteas
Chloe and Claire presented the beautiful Bridesmaids with their bouquets a textured collection of nautical inspired blooms and materials
Our girls showed everyone how to carry their bouquets perfectly
Each bouquet was quite unique and had a coral like quality with Proteas, sea shells and bubble like Muscari taking centre stage.
Downstairs in the ceremony room the scene was set with two of our fabulous pedestals framing the Registrars table perfectly
Our Stone Pedestals were topped with Pussy Willow, Frothy Hydrangeas and Proteas
The Registrars Table was decorated with vases filled with fresh flowers in unique shapes and textures
The chairs lining the aisle were decorated with Posies of Proteas and Cardifolium
Our Candle lit Lanterns lined the aisle
The lovely Greg was first to have his rather special Boutonniere pinned to his uniform
Greg's Ranunculus Boutonniere complete with Anchor motif
We pinned on all of the Boutonnieres and Corsages ensuring each one was positioned perfectly
So lovely to see Noel again and this time as a guest instead of a Bride Groom
The Bridesmaid's all looked completely wonderful in their navy blue gowns
Huge Congratulations to Scott & Greg from all of the team here at Flower Design Events
The celebrations moved on to the reception where the tables were dressed with a combination of high and low table designs all with a nautical vibe
We absolutely loved the Seating Plan concept designed by Deanna from Deannamic Designs
The guests found their own personalised compass which pointed them in the direction of the table they would be seated at
Our spectacularly tall table vases topped with floral wonderment decorated some of the tables
The top table was just stunning a series of reflective mirrors were sprinkled with shells and coral, posies of fresh flowers and was illuminated by candlelit hurricane lamps
Some of the dining tables were dressed with a collection of Proteas and Cardifoliums on mirrors with starfish and seashells
Seashells decorated the base of our tall column vases
The views from the Shireburn are just wonderful
Huge thanks to Greg and Scott for choosing Flower Design Events to create the flowers for their beautiful wedding, be happy always boys!!!xxxxx
